Large Portraits – Oil On Canvas all Approximately 2 Metres Square

I find working on large scale portraits really gives me a chance to let loose with oil paint. These paintings can take me months, whilst I working on other paintings in the interim of working on the larger portraits. They really go anything like according to plan, but I do try to do a preliminary sketch/painting on a smaller scale just program myself, in fact the more I do of preliminary studies, the greater the chance of success generally.
