We’ve all heard the horror stories about landlords neglecting their tenants or showing their true colors in the times of the pandemic. But as with all things in life, some landlords are worse than others.

Residents of a Colorado trailer park were seriously shocked after they received a note from their landlord threatening to double their rent if Joe Biden is elected. As crazy as it sounds, the tenants emailed the letter to 9NEWS in order to find out whether such a threat was legal. The news outlet contacted The Colorado Secretary Of State’s office and it confirmed that they received a complaint from Fort Morgan park residents.

The tenants felt hurt since their families live “paycheck to paycheck and right now, we barely make things out with what we get.” Read the intimidating note down below, which indeed sounds like a very indecent form of voting suppression, and adds yet another nightmare story in the landlord department.

The trailer park resident Cindy Marquez who lived there for 20 years, said she has never seen something like this from landlords before.

“Our family lives paycheck to paycheck and right now we barely make things out with what we get,” she told 9NEWS.

The woman also said that the community was honestly shocked and hurt, since this the threat was essentially something that the residents couldn’t control. “We can’t control what everyone else does, you know? We can’t control the results.”

The Colorado Secretary of State’s now handed the complaint to the Attorney General where the case is undergoing further investigation.

The residents filed a complaint and reached out to a member of the Colorado Senate to comment on their case

And this is what people had to say
