For the last year, police have been warning people to be alert to scammers demanding payments in the form of iTunes vouchers, after an 80-year-old woman was tricked out of $4,000. However, because he was both aware of the scheme and suspicious of a stranger who kept calling him ‘baby’ in every other message, Jay Hall from Virginia, USA knew precisely what to do when he got demands for iTunes gift cards.
“I have not been targeted in the past by this particular iTunes scamming scheme, but I have had friends and family who have,” Jay told Bored Panda. “Unfortunately some people really do fall for these sort of phone scams.”

After making sure the scammer was hopelessly in his will, the guy took them on a savage journey they will never forget. “I just wanted to waste as much time of the scammers time as I could,” he added. “I was also bored at the time, haha. I came up with the phishing script as it happened.”

Jay was surprised the scammer went along with the absurd for so long, too. “To a normal person, it should have been pretty evident pretty quickly that I was an internet troll.”
