These are from India and I feel so sad when I compare the kind of architecture that we had versus what we now have! Just imagine how grand these architectural masterpieces would look if they were restored to their original condition?!

    How big are they? They look like they're hundreds and hundreds of feet high! How far back in history do the carvings show? This is just phenomenal, I've never seen such a thing!

    I don't know exactly but our God Kartikeya was mounted on a Mayura (Peacock). These carvings will be found on South Indian temples.

    Yes, Hawa Mahal Jaipur. Where the Queens and ladies in the courts and palaces would comes to view the processions going from the road below. As purdah system was present the ladies had to hide their face with a viel in presence of a male. These Jharokhas (windows with intricate carvings) in Hawa Mahal gave the ladies the freedom to view those processions.
