“Did You Know?”: 30 Of The Most Interesting Random Facts About Everything And Anything
Interview With AuthorDid you know, Pandas, that male penguins scour an entire beach looking for the prettiest pebble to present to their future mate? That's one piece of super wholesome trivia that I learned from this page. And it's fun learning online, isn't it? Maybe it's nothing new to some, but a 2020 study revealed that 91% of learners value fun in learning.
Scrolling through Instagram certainly beats sitting in a classroom. It can be a fun way to learn some simple facts. So the page we're featuring today is Facts For Genius, and they share all kinds of fun facts for the curious. Want to impress your friends or colleagues at your next trivia night? Scroll down and see some inspiration below!
Bored Panda reached out to the people behind the page, and they were kind enough to have a chat with us. Read our short conversation with the creator below!

As a kid mine was just barking loudly and running in circle for 10 minutes when we came back home. Crazy little dude i miss him and remember everything even if he died 20 years ago. I will never forget my childhood best friend.
Mine won't let me go to the bathroom on my own either
Load More Replies...My dog does this after I come home from my doctor appointments. Sometimes I can take her, but I can’t every time.
The page Facts For Genius has a whopping one million followers and posts daily interesting facts for its followers. One of the people behind the page tells Bored Panda that it's actually a three-person project. The creators also have big plans to expand to other social media platforms. They didn't reveal any specific plans yet, but their format of bite-sized pieces of useful and interesting information would definitely do well on TikTok!
The creators think that the best aspect of their page is that people can learn something new in a fun way. "Our audience gains exposure to a wealth of unique information that extends beyond conventional learning offered in schools," they told Bored Panda. "This includes fascinating and amusing details and unusual facts, elevating their knowledge through an entertaining approach."
They also shared one fact they found especially captivating through their years as curators of this page. In 1963, 16-year-old Bruce McAllister mailed letters to 150 authors to prove to his English teacher that there was no conscious symbolism in their works. 75 writers responded, among whom were Jack Kerouac ("No."), Isaac Asimov ("Heavens, no!"), Ray Bradbury ("The best symbolism is always unsuspected and natural."), and Ayn Rand ("Your questions do not make sense.").
What a seriously stupid thing is. I would also be more happy about a nice pebble.
Load More Replies...Genuinely i would like to know if someone has never heard of that, i mean i feel like i have read or heard this fact a thousand times before.
There was a whole a*s movie.... The pebble and the penguin
Load More Replies...Duh. We learned this from "The Pebble and the Penguin." Or was that only me?
Watch out, I got downvoted by everyone who desperately wanna believe that penguins are humans in disguise and fall in love.

I appreciate this post calls it Ram Sethu bridge! The underground bridge has been known by Indians for centuries as the bridge built by Lord Ram to save his wife sita who was kidnapped. The bridge was contested for many years until it was proven it existed. On Google maps it is called 'Adam's bridge' though the indigenous name is "Ram Sethu" so it really should be changed.
We like to learn facts, especially when they're about cute animals, our health, or our everyday lives. These bite-sized snippets of information come from research and scientific studies. For example, I honestly wanted to believe the TikToks that swore rosemary oil/water would help my hair start growing faster. They even said it's 'scientifically proven!'
However, even if you read something in a 'scientific study,' it doesn't automatically make it an undeniable truth. Those of us who are not researchers might think that there's a good checks and balances system in the scientific publishing world. But the reality is not as black and white as we'd like to imagine.
Damn paradox. We obviously need the cat but mine keep sleeping right in the middle of my legs so i manage some weird posture and wake up sored with backpain. But it's worth the pain i guess.
Surprisingly effective. I had chiropractor and physical therapy for years on my back when I was a strictly back sleeper. On my side with pillow between my knees and I haven't needed them or pain meds for years.
Doing this completely got rid of the painful swollen knees I was getting so not just good for back and hips.
I use a squishmallow for this and then I have an excuse to buy more squishmallows 😂 initially though I got one for this, all day in a mermaid tail and my knees are swollen and sore from being bound so tight together-
And side sleepers should put a pillow under their arms as well to prevent their shoulder blades from collapsing inward to avoid round shoulders and a slouch.
This worked for me. Few months ago I was having bad back, hip, and knee pain, and this helped me.
"Maybe the" 42° celcius in Kerala last summer and no AC in school explains it all...
I googled and this is true but it only seems to be twice a day for 5 minutes at 10.30am and 2.30pm. It was three times in 2019 when it was limited to some schools in Kerala, but they are reintroducing it this year (2024) across the state. They've been experiencing 38-42C (100-107F) degree temperatures recently.
When I was a kid, we got a milk break each morning and afternoon. You only got milk if you paid a nickel for it. You could get whole or chocolate. The janitor would deliver the pallets of milk about an hour before the break, and the little cartons would sit in the corner getting warm.
Load More Replies...What they need is to also provide water in schools. We always had to bring it from home
Leads to the question: Do the kids bring the water with them, or is it provided by the school?
Or English is not their first language. How many do you speak?
Load More Replies...I'll bet one reason for this is because of the financial stress it adds to their first few years of marriage.
Probably they bought the whole "happy ever after" myth about a big wedding and marriage and got married because of social pressures and expectation.
Load More Replies...hmm.. marriage #1 - reasonable cost, lasted 10 years. Marriage #2 - married at city hall on our lunch hour one summer afternoon - lasted 24 years and still going strong. Weddings today seem to be much more about display and social media than the union of 2 hearts.
Because they value meaningless material things, rather than real feelings and other non material things that actually make a lasting relationship.
It’s probably because when you prioritize having a “perfect” wedding over the perfect partner, it’s not meant to be.
In 2014, the blogger behind the chemistry site Compound Interest, Andy Brunning, created a pretty comprehensive chart that lists some flaws that might help to spot 'bad science.' He mentions 12 points that might help evaluate whether that science news article you just read is for real or might be bogus.
The first thing we can do, according to him, is look at the headlines. Articles with titles that seem sensationalized or clickbaity should immediately raise suspicion. News articles sometimes might misrepresent the findings of scientific research. Brunning recommends checking out the scientific article and not always trusting the news article blindly.
Public records. In the US, a lot of divorce cases, once they're adjugated on and they don't involve minors, are open to the public

But if that's official divorce papers they sure got official informations on it ? From who ? I don't get it...

Load More Replies...I think this may be true DEPENDING on the person and lifestyle. There are people who sweats a lot. Also if you work making physical labor or in a very hot place you may need to shower daily. Also it makes sense that if you shower daily you need to take care of your skin and hidratate it more.
yeah! i sweat a lot and i do swimming too so i gotta shower every day! sometimes even 2 times a day! i use lotion and stuff so my skin doesn't dry out and my skin is doing alright :)
Load More Replies...My skin seems fine though even though I shower everyday and I don’t even have a proper skin care routine
This depends on the genetics of a person. Say this to people from hot countries. I find these types of blanket statements to be severely un-nuanced.
And want want to throw them as far as you can?
Load More Replies...I don't know that I'm afraid of trusting people, I just don't - due to bad past experiences.
Apparently its from the Greek words πίστη (pisti )=trust and άνθρωπος (anthropos)=individual and φόβος (phovos)=fear witch mean fear of to people
I don't think the feeling that all middle-aged, relatively honest people have, needs a name.
In some cases, companies employ scientists to carry out studies or invest in their research and development. It's always useful to check if there's no conflict of interest between the researchers and the investors, as the results might get misrepresented for personal or financial gain.
I read somewhere that more intelligent people better remember the substance than less intelligent, but are more forgetful about the exact details. Like they remember the gist of a conversation and even the finer points, but not necessarily when or where it was had, sometimes not even with whom.
This describes me. I remember the nuance but not the finer details. When asked recently how I could remember x but not y my response was "it wasn't relevant - I don't need to know who or when, just what"

I really needed to read this. I hold back tears more often than I should.
as i always say "it is better to have a small stream from time to time than a whole dam that breaks at once" not enough mop after :) take care bored fellows <3
Is there still anyone left in 2024 that says crying is bad and we have to keep all feelings inside ? What you keep inside your body will find a way to express it. Pain, disease whatever. I don't find any english word for french "somatiser"' that means physical manifestation of your psychological issues.
Yeah bc you finally cleared all the mucous out got raw and swollen allowing infecting to take hold. Go see an ENT you probably need to have your sinuses burned out
Load More Replies...WTF? It's not being annoyed by "little things", its a reaction to noises human body makes
I think some people might be confusing this actual condition with a dislike for certain things. People with this condition actually get angry, very angry in most cases. It's not that they just don't like certain sounds, it's that the sounds trigger actual anger, which then spills into other areas. You can very much dislike these sounds and not get angered by them. A lot of people dislike the sounds, some immensely, but very few actually get angered by them. I don't know why anyone would feel this is insulting, it really just is a fact. not a judgment of those who actually have the condition. There's nothing wrong with being annoyed by certain sounds, or disliking them (to any degree). But the actual condition itself, poses massive problems for people who have it, and those around them. It negatively affects many areas in their lives, some to a very extreme degree. It's really not the same as just not liking or being annoyed by certain sounds, it's much more than that.
In addition to triggering anger, it can trigger horrendous anxiety, due to the inability to escape from the sound.
Load More Replies...Possibly the stupidest explanation for a medical condition I’ve ever read. Try harder.
Not just annoyed or angered. I likely have this (all my friends agreed that I prolly do when I explained it to them) ((my doctor said I might have it)) and it actually often gets so bad that I’ve genuinely wanted to kill myself. It sucks not being able to stand someone tapping their fingers or smth like that
Now let's get into the more technical side of the studies. Brunning points out that research where the sample size is bigger tends to "give more representative results." What's more, the sample of participants should represent a bigger portion of the population. There should also be a control group – a number of participants that do not receive a substance, treatment, etc.
A hug for more than three seconds feels very weird unless it's with your partner.
and it helps release the kraken : when a friend is so sad he can't cry, a long hug help to let it go

So, I can still remain dormant for 23 hours and 55 minutes every day? Sounds like a good deal to me.
So when I spend the entire day in front of my confuser, I can make it ok by getting up to go to the kitchen or to the bathroom every hour? Sounds just like my average day, at least in Winter.
My wife has this overthinking problem when she tries to sleep. In Germany we call it "Kopfkino" (head cinema). ;)
I love it when German words make sense in direct English translations
Load More Replies...Then we have to think about the reporting of the results. Good research shouldn't cherry-pick results to support a hypothesis. So the scientists should include all results, even if they don't support the claims they made before conducting the research. Other researchers should also be able to replicate the same results. If there is something only one lab has discovered and no one has been able to replicate it since – something might be fishy there.
Drinking of alcohol is strongly correlated with both swearing and hard physical labour. That would make it anti-correllated with high IQ.
Load More Replies...So the only ones who care for themselves or know the effects of drinking have low iq
Jeez, then according to this I have the IQ of a rock. I dislike alcohol.
Considering you entirely missed the point, you might be right.
Load More Replies...What about cultures where people don't drink alcohol. Are you saying they're inferior? Want to know which drinks business funded this one.
Please note that correlation is not causation and you can't drink yourselves smart.
Perhaps clever people see the world more clearly, and need more booze to cope. The causation is working the opposite to your assumption.
Load More Replies...There MAY be a (recently) found correlation, but I have a lot of troubling believing this statement is sufficiently proven to be considered a fact.

There are many species of scorpions and only SOME of them exhibit this behavior.
No scorpions can hold their breath since they don't have lungs but an organ called book lungs connected to the outside by trachea.
Not "a scorpion" but "some kind of scorpion". But this is still awesome. I mean the whole year without foot is very intriguing...
Some of us might have seen the phrase 'peer-reviewed' when we've checked scientific articles. When a study is peer-reviewed, it means that other scientists have reviewed and critiqued it. And while such articles can be more trustworthy and of higher quality, the process isn't perfect and this fact doesn't make the research irrefutable.
B******t. Eating anything but celery can lead to weight gain if you eat enough. Who wrote this? Trump?
Including celery, it's purely a Cal in/out situation all the fad diets are just fads to make money for the authors
Load More Replies...No it goes by your own metabolism. If your personal metabolism is set at let's say 2000 Cal/day to maintain your weight then you can eat up to 2k calories a day it doesn't matter what you eat as far as weight. Obvs if you ate 2k of only butter every day you will be deficient in some needed essential vitamins and minerals though you could just take a multivitamin for it, but you won't gain weight as long as you stay within your metabolism rate
Load More Replies...depends what you eat with the pasta. just about like with every other meal?
No it doesn't really, it only matters the amount of calories you put into your mouth, doesn't matter what it is as long as you proportion it to fit your daily caloric needs and not more
Load More Replies...Eating pasta like an emotionally stable person won't lead to weight gain

my grandpa used to do that and his hair started graying earlier (like in his 20's type of earlier) maybe its different for everyone?
Load More Replies...Oddly specific stats should give the sample cohort size and demographic breakdown or this looks unreliable, particularly when content is sourced from Instagram without fact-checking. Also, I always want to know who paid for the study as that's often enlightening when it comes to how results are interpreted.
That low? 5-6 yo kids can easily gave a few new "best friends" a day and loose them within hours.
We have best friends for each ear of our life. I had a school best friend, a teenage years best friend, a student graduation best friend and even as an adult i can have different best friends but for a long span of years.
True. My first best friend drifted apart from me (easy to do when she has a life with a job, husband, and kids, and I have nothing but a disability that's robbed me of all that). My second best friend betrayed me and stabbed me in the back, publicly, at our work place. My latest best friend? We'll see - 16 years strong, so far.
Dr. Michelle Wong, chemistry Ph.D., science educator, and cosmetic chemist explained the flaws in the aforementioned rosemary-helps-hair-growth study that many social media influencers cited as evidence in a recent video. She also explained in more detail how peer-reviewed studies work and how we as consumers (of media and products) can spot bad science.
»Petrichor« is the smell of rain (on dry earth)...the word is composed of ancient Greek »πέτρα« (pétrā) → rock, piece of rock, or »πέτρος« (pétros) → stone, and »ἰχώρ« (īchṓr) → blood of the gods...🌧️ 🪨 🩸
I always thought ozone when I read a description of the smell. Didn't know though.
Summer rain! I was driving through West Texas one summer when it started raining. I almost ran off the road because I was leaning out of the window, just sniffing the desert rain. It was amazing.

Yes, ANY exercise can do this, but exercise done along with music has a greater impact because it engages other areas of the brain that movement alone does not. Although they say dancing, even just walking to music is better than just walking. Any sounds will help engage other areas of the brain, but music often triggers our happy brains (totally a scientific term, I swear) and that increases our subconscious involvement in the activity :D So, yes, dancing does work better than "any exercise" to improve brain function and help reduce the risk of dementia (and it has way more health benefits as well just because of how we use our brains during that particular activity).
🎶 I can't stop this feeling deep inside of me 🎵 girl, you just don't realize what you do to me🎵 dancing baby !!! :D
Load More Replies...A crossword a day can reduce dementia because it can cause the brain to continuously think. Also learning a new language can have the same effect.
My brother had Parkinson's dementia and the one thing he loved was dancing
Science claims that »walking backwards« is supposed to be more effective than any other »movements« and work-outs...🚶🏽➡️
As previous post correctly states, ANY exercise / movement will do this. Not so much a "fact" as a "Well, duh!" statement.
Wong points out some problems with peer-reviewed studies in one of her videos. Not all topics get much attention in the science world. Papers published in fields such as epidemiology, genetics, climate change, or artificial intelligence get the most attention nowadays. Naturally, there's less scrutiny for less popular topics. Not a lot of scientists are discussing and critiquing the studies in less popular fields; thus, that research can be less reliable.
And when serotonin levels drop, people have the urge to eat junk carbs to replenish that serotonin. But the junk carbs causes a glucose spike, which then causes a rush of insulin, which then causes a glucose drop, thus making one sad and anxious again. It is a cycle one need to break by eating mostly vegetables.
I suffer from migraines and take serotonin re-up take inhibitors as a treatment, but my body will also be begging me to eat carbs so it can make more serotonin

It's called the 21-90 rule. It takes 21 days to make something a habit, it takes 90 days to make something a lifestyle.
In the book of a well-known psychiatrist Anders Hansen - The Real Happy Pill was mentioned according to some studies, that developing a new habit take approx 2 weeks and i saw it on me. Everytime i start something new, i know that i have to endure 2 weeks to get used to it. Btw, absolutely great book ☺️
Used to be 21 days for a new behavior to become a habit. But then again, if it's a phone at the end of our hand, it's instantaneously a habit the moment that phone touches our hand!
If you enjoy the activity, it can become a habit in just a few weeks. If you have a health issue as motivation, it can become a habit overnight.
Huh, I've always read it's 21 days. But what do I know, I'll just believe this article
The other problem is that peer reviewing is voluntary, unrewarding work. Scientists don't get paid for reviewing (especially reviewing well) new research. It's anonymous and variable, Wong points out, so the quality can vary. Sometimes peer reviewers might not read the paper as closely if they know it might not get a lot of attention in the future.
Not drinking coconut water in a place where coconuts don't grow naturally helps to not deteriorate your carbon footprint. (Edit: grammar)
My dad has been drinking it daily since the 70s and I have to say, it’s either good genes or that stuff really is magic 😂 my dad is so old and we’ll be out and he’ll still have young girls my age try to talk to him, cos he looks so much younger 😂
There's no reason for the caps on "coconut water/weight/vitamins".
Yes, I forgot what I studied the night before and now I failed my exam but at least my brain is somewhat healthy /s
This must be why so many words and the correct use of grammar was forgotten in the entries on this list.😛 Pardon, I meant “studies shows puzzling out cryptic entry make brian works gooder to older age.”
*Were forgotten. You’ve got to love when you use improper grammar to poke fun at improper grammar!🤣
Load More Replies...Unfortunalely the things you need to forget are always permanent memories that will never leave you.

Define late. And what's considered young? I sleep late all the time but I'm starting to get old so I'm not sure id I should worry. :)
Lastly, peer reviewers aren't safe from personal bias. When a paper has a well-known author or one that comes from a prestigious institution, peer reviewers might not give it much scrutiny. "It's actually a really well-known hack for getting papers published quickly with minimal revisions – just stick a well-known author on there," Wong explains.

Unfortunately it will smell of cinnamon, so don't do this if you don't like the smell of cinnamon.
I like to do two things. Stud an orange with cloves and wrap with a ribbon, then hang around the house. Boil citrus peels, cloves, cinnamon sticks, vanilla beans, nutmeg freshly grated, fresh ginger and all spice. Pour through a sieve into a jar and seal. Save the peels and spices and dry in the oven on a baking sheet at 300. Check every half hour until dry enough to ground into a powder. Pour powder into glass jar. Mix powder with candle wax and pour into desired shape with a wick. Enjoy your candle and boil your liquid when needed, refrigerate when not in use. Throw away after 5 boils.
i used to, but now i have to. back then, i missed out on homework a lot too, and in tests i usually figured out things as we went on.
Load More Replies...The top students in my high school took excellent notes and reviewed those notes every day after school for only 30 minutes. They did no other studying. It was just a daily review that they did. The rest of us put everything we were exposed to in school out of our minds until two days before an exam when we freaked out and tried to cram. And then we learned that as a adult, most of the stuff we were "taught" we never ever used in real adult life. And the info we really needed, we were never taught.

Nonsense. Almost all kids go through a phase of being obsessed with dinosaure.
Actually, no. Dinosaur obsession is common, but far from universal, and part of the appeal may be the very long but largely phonetic names and meaningless diversity that help kids feel like they know things that grown-ups don't. And THIS would certainly both stem from and help develop intelligence.

So you're thinking for each day you eat fish, you reduce your mortality risk by 21%, so if you eat fish every day, that's 7*21 = 147, which is greater than 100% so you're immortal? Works out.
Load More Replies...Except the mercury and toxic chemicals in the fish probably counteract any benefit. I'll take my chances without fish because to me and my taste, fish is disgusting tasting
There's a very wide variety of flavors to fish. Salmon, tuna, catfish and tilapia don't have much in common, flavorwise... Unless they get old. You have to eat fish the day you take it home from the store. A "fishy" smell is a smell of old fish. And if you've had bad fish, you may instinctively associate that fishy smell with making you sick. Some fish has little flavor and the slightest fishiness can therefore be noticeable. And some frozen, fried fish is low-quality fish, fried to cover its undesirability. But some fish like salmon or catfish has a lot of beneficial oils which also make them great for holding added flavors in addition to having their own, rich taste.
Load More Replies...The microwave at work doesn't want to have to cook the fish, so there's that.

No, it actually makes perfect sense. And not just water - anything cold you eat would drain some of your body warmth, which directly results in loss of calories (as the body always aims to maintain a constant temperature).

Especially if there is alcohol and a 3rd cousin around, but I'm trying to forget that personal chapter.
Yeah. Because depression definitely enhances your flirting abilities...

I thought magnesium helps too? Personally I go for paracetamol though so what do I know.

No one knows because there’s no train station so you can’t go there.

Again, BS. There are many more cultures that don't 'kiss' than there are that do, so are they all dissatisfied in their relationships? Perhaps, but at least they have their health.
I can, but it's hard to do it without seeing double.
Load More Replies...No? Icecream is so full of sugar and the cone also has so much more sugar. It’s full of extra fats also. How is that healthier than bagels and raisins?
Bagels are all starch, which turns to sugar before it even reachers your stomach. "Multigrain" rarely means any significant amount of fiber. Chocolate and nuts are both wonderful for you.
Load More Replies...Man, you can't even write dru-ggs anymore? Chemical medicine-like substances, then!
Load More Replies...Some bagels at the store already have them, like cinnamon raisin bagels for example I think. (At least near me)
Load More Replies...Alright, calling BS in this one. Are all of these going to be new age Gwyneth Paltrow garbage?
"Purifies your blood"? That's literally what your liver and kidneys are for.
Load More Replies...Not if they have a toxic work environment.
Load More Replies...Beet juice allows salt to de-ice roads at lower temperature, figured a verifiable fact about the juice should be here somewhere
My goodness. What do the roads look like with it on it ?!?
Load More Replies..."Purify" blood? "Cleanse body from toxins"...that's what we got a liver for. So beetroot is good for healthy liver function?
As a person who still had bad acne at age 26, I can attest that when I drank three cups of chickweed tea, a supposed "blood purifier", my acne improved. But it did not completely heal until my doctor had me eliminate all sugar and white flour from my diet.
It’s like saying “chai tea” when “chai” already means “tea,” specifying that what we call the beet is actually just the beet plant’s root makes anything made from it sound more rare and exotic than if you just said it was made with beets.
Load More Replies...How do you even do a study on something like this? This list is packed with so much pseudoscience it's making me angry.
F**k? I don’t care about the perverted kid in my class who I argue with. I don’t care about anyone I argue with. F**k is this?
This is absolute BS. I NEVER argued with my hubby of 20+ years - he always accused me of not caring, but it was BECAUSE I cared that I wouldn't engage. I never wanted to accidentally say something in anger that I couldn't take back. I never wanted to hurt or humiliate him in any way. I would let him run out of steam till he got tired of fighting a one-sided fight then I'd have a calm, respectful discussion LATER. I totally will argue with people I don't care about or respect. This "fact" is so backward.
Surprise, it's the same for men. I've argued more with my wife and kid than I have with people I don't know on Greenland.
That's only half a pack of cigarettes a day, isn't it?
Load More Replies...Who comes up with all this BS and calls it 'study'. According to this list if I eat particular foods I should be able to live 3 or 4 centuries without any health issues and if I do some of the other stuff I should be dead before I was born. And my relationships with other people is controlled by what I eat/drink how many times a day. And shocking news, people can un-focus their eyes? Really? Like how 3d puzzles work? What a great and shocking news. And as for people who think they cannot do, yes, you can. It may require a bit of practice maybe if you've never tried but yes, you can. And oh let's not forget anything you do maybe because you're a genius. Almost as BS as astrology .
I'm now convinced this should be named "facts4idiots". Maybe they are using the 'genius' label sarcastically in order to not offend idiots? Edited to add: I visited the original post and am horrified at how many "likes" this c**p has. I have lost faith in humanity.
Shame on BP for publishing this garbage. There's a few actual things but there's a ton of pseudo science BS. They need to fact check or delete this whole thing.
BP can't be bothered to make its own material anymore. It's all stolen. Whyever would they bother with fact-checking? In the two and a half years since I've gotten out of prison, it's really deteriorated. I only come for the other Pandas. Bored or not, we're still awesome!

What a mess: grammar mistakes everywhere, things that have been debunked ages ago (negative calories don't exist), and harmful mental health practices. If a study says something, include the link to the study too.
Unless it changed significantly from last week, these are all pretty accurate. I think a lot of you are misattributing lay definitions for some pretty integral words.

Ok cool but you're literally on the internet right now and can look these up
Load More Replies...I know BP has been rapidly going downhill for months now, but this has got to be the worst post I've ever seen on here. It's a case of 'it must be true, I read it on the internet.'
