Inspirational quotes are something that everyone can relate too. They surround us in our everyday culture, and at times we even find ourselves seeking them out to motivate, inspire or to just make us smile.
I was working at a creative agency at the time who tasked me with the job of dressing up their office walls. The only instruction was that the work had to be relevant to the design, tech, and business worlds. Designing a suite of typographic prints to hang on the walls felt like a good way to cheer up the hardworking staff and the visiting clients.
I wanted the designs to be clean, bold and engaging. The messaging (or in this case the quotes) had to stand front and center. I chose the approach of keeping the typefaces down to only a few families, and only producing them in black and white. This kept a consistency across the range of prints, but also allowing them to have their own individual character.
Creating this work was ridiculously good fun, and when the final work was completed the reaction from everyone has been that of huge positivity and inspiration. Proving that everyone can relate to an inspiring quote from an equally inspiring individual.
