Inside My Womb , Sketches Representing Phases Experienced By Artist Close To Labor And Birth.
Inside my womb
A sanctuary.
Mandala ,
Of love blood compassion veins
This serie of Artwork ‘Inside my Womb’ was inspired by the rapid changes the body was going through, during the last trimester of pregnancy. Mommy brain, aches, fetal movement, carpal tunnel syndromes, unsettling emotions, Braxton Hicks contractions, spotting, water breaking all felt like a whirlpool of emotions. With pen and a journal by her side all time, these few pieces were done just a few days before the artist went into labor. She says
‘labor which lasted for over a day and a half gave me time to generate more sketches before the big “Oooh my God ” moment !
Part I of this series was done in the year 2013, during her first pregnancy. This one focuses on the time closer to birth compared to the first series, which focused mainly on the time after conception and before birth.
