As a kid of the 80's, dragons have always inspired me. Whether it was through movies, video games or dungeons, and dragons, these mythical beasts had an influence on my imagination. With this series of drawings, I wanted to show a different side of the animal.
Often dragons are depicted as villainous, treasure hoarding monsters but I wanted to break past the stereotypes and delve into the different personalities of each character. As far as the styling of the drawings themselves, I wanted to go for an old fashioned look of classic illustration, maybe even having a feel that they were sketched from life in some explorer's journal.

Raniik The Obvious
"Raniik the Obvious" fancies himself an excellent hide and seek player.
You forgot to draw the dragon. I only see a knight with a flag and a strange hovering tree...
Wow! Wonderful! Can you please please make postcards of all your lovely dragons? I wanna have them!
BRIAN KESINGER...if you haven't already, you must see The Railway Dragon...and your work is beautiful
Oh, he knows the dragon's there. He just wants the dragon to have some fun "hiding"..
Load More Replies...Telkyn The Learned
This book wyrm loves to hoard her literary treasures.
You listen to old Telkyn… I’ve got a pearl for you. Go find yourself a modest cave and this is what you do: Don’t fill the cave with gold and jewels - that’s just a foolish pleasure. Fill it up with books instead and you’ll have all the treasure.
I don't why but this dragon reminds me of Falkor from the =Never-ending story....
Cole The Diminutive
"Cole the Diminutive" is just a small dragon in a big world hoping to find a realm of his own that he can desolate all he wants.
What if this dragon got lost before the Triwizard Tournament and Charlie Weasley never found him?!?!
Load More Replies...Hungry for adventure Cole sets out across the nation, searching for Uncle Trogdor and all his burnination
Just go to Hogwarts, since many are actually interested in studying dragons. ...But desolating miiight give you a bad time. You know, the magical wands and stuff
Aagar The Emotional
Chapter 14 gets to "AAgar the Emotional" every time.
Never heard just wanted to be a friend ..no one could understand what he really meant.. he was just stubborn and hurt and wanted someone to scratch him behind the ear...😂😂
Load More Replies...He's seen his share of battles - he's never been a sissy, but every time Old Smaug gets shot Aagar gets a little misty.
oh yes sorry aagar i would never do that to you don't worry sweet child
Awwww poor guy!!! I get weepy when kili, fili, and thorin die too!
I was also very sad at Smaug's demise! Unfair! Such a gorgeous Dragon!
Varlad The Improviser
"Varlad the Improviser" was fortunate to come across a helpful princess during his quest to find his missing jump rope.
Rapunzel is the right princess because she respects everything outside like nature and animals
"Icecream Sundae, cherry on top! Who's your true love I forgot! Is it A! B! C! D!..."
Morkos The Famished
This peckish dragon is always up for a late knight snack.
Is scarfing down knights really dispelling myths about dragons? Isn't that kinda their thing?
So an Early knight survives to see the morning's light? Whereas a Late night meets an early demise.
Gorüng The Skittish
"Gorüng the Skittish" has an extreme case of Ovinaphobia.
I don't want to be one of those people but... Elephants aren't afraid of mice, they are afraid of an animal that looks similar: The Rogue Rock-Hopping Rodent.
Load More Replies...Cries of horror fill the land, the valleys shriek and wail For each time Gorung sees a sheep he screams and grabs his tail Men with spears he does not fear, the sword he does not dread But fluffy little sheep? Those things scare Gorung dead
I just have to say, this is amazing. all of these picture made me go on a nostalgia trip back in time when I watched animated movies as "Balto" and "Arthur" This uniqe style of dragons... I just freaking love it! Im feeling all war and happy when I see these and will defenitly download em all on my phone have and them rotade as a background ever 1 h!!!! Thank you so much for this.
Garnyx The Behemoth
Once upon a time a reckless king decreed that his kingdom be built on the highest peak in the land. His advisors warned against the construction as it was a sacred place but were put to death for their disobedience. Woe to the king when Garnyx awakes...
They sleep for 1000 years... They have about 700years left... roughly
I hope for the villagers that he doesn't cratch his itchy back now and then during his sleep
The kingdom survived every foreign attack, Till Garnyx rolled over to sleep on his back
Maybe he'll treat them like an ant farm or something? Every dragon needs a hobby.
Flaarix The Mischevious
This sea serpent loves surprising the local mermaids with impromptu acrobatic displays.
Cyr'nyth The Mystic
Many an intrepid traveler has sought the wisdom of this ancient forest spirit, but Cyr'nyth only materializes to those he deems worthy of his knowledge.

"Swenti the Loyal and Sir Button-nose the Brave" teach us that even sworn enemies can be friends if they look into each others hearts.
Seru The Maternal
"Seru the Maternal" helps her hatchling take flight for the first time.
Every time I see a dragoness caring for her hatchling, my heart just melts! <3
Koga The Optimistic
"Koga the Optimistic" lost his ability to fly centuries ago but his spirit still soars through the kites that he creates.
I love it! I love all of your Drawings, but this one? You cannot relate upon having all you need to be happy, a singer cannot always sing, a painter not always paint, to keep the cheer and making something worthy out of a disability, almost makes me cry, wonderful!
The kite string is a narrow path that leads into the sky As Koga has discovered, you don’t need wings to fly
March is the best time to fly a kite. Joint your dragon in kite flying fun.
Brian The Overworked
A month of wrangling dragons can be quite exhausting.
Why is your only female dragon the maternal one??? Girls do more than have babies! Why cant there be girl dragons kicking butt, exploring the world and reading books???
Vorloc The Impenetrable
"Vorloc the Impenetrable" has the thickest of dragon scales to insure minimal distractions at tea time.
Vorloc burns the countryside to make the knights attack It’s not that he’s a jerk, he just needs help to scratch his back
" I say sir knight, this is awfully uncivilized of you, now toddle off and you can fight me properly after tea time."
Ron'u The Immovable
"Ron'u the Immovable" is the most ancient of stone dragons. In fact, he is so old that most people are unsure if he is still a living creature or just a gargantuan monument carved into the mountain side by the winds of time.
In all seriousness, this is a very amazing idea for a story, Mr. Kesinger! Great design!
Robin Hobb wrote a mighty tale about stone dragons. Read her Farseer trilogy :-) You'l e pleasantly surprised
Load More Replies...They like to climb Mt. Ron'u. "The first one up's the winner." That's fine by me - I'm starving. I hope they're here for dinner.
If you didn't know this was a Dragon you might think it's just a mountain ridge!
Dormar The Ponderer And Seerfin The Impatient
"Dormar the Ponderer" and "Seerfin the Impatient" have been locked in an epic battle of the minds for the last 259 years, Seerfin hopes to get a turn before the next century.
K3? R4? Chess boards are only eight blocks in width! They must be playing Legacetric Chess. It is a form created by Kah'Tei-Lor the seventh after he claimed champion of all other versions. Legend tells that his followers took his body and shaped his coffin to look like a giant chess piece and now lies deep within the vaults of Rokken-Teiros, the kingdom of gods.
Load More Replies...OMG this was my boyfriend and me playing Backgammon. He has Aspergers and had to consider all ramifications of every move. I have ADHD and hadn't the patience so I operated on hunch and instinct. He usually won. ;)
Lol, this is too funny. I'm like the impatient one and the other one is my best friend who is always late. =\

So'kee The Vegetarian
This eclectic dragon is known throughout the land for her organic pumpkin juice.
I can just hear her trying to convince other dragons. "Look, do you know what all that red knight meat does to your liver? And the packaging it comes in takes hundreds of years to degrade naturally."
Hoozar The Infirmed
There is nothing worse for a forest than a dragon with a cold
With a cold? Don't you mean a hot? Get it? Cause he... ah, never mind
Sariin The Insecure
"Sariin the Insecure" prefers the quite comfort of his treasure chest more than the hustle and bustle of the world around him.
This is my fourth personality in a nutshell. I keep it hidden although usually they just hide in the depths of my soul. If anyone asks why I am so weird, tell them I'm having soul segment displacement disorder or SSDD for short. It's becoming a more common thing now with all this pollution and bad world leaders.
Dorble The Lesser
Like all dragons, Dorble cherishes his vast fortune.
Either the coin is very big or the dragon is really small, it doesn't matter, since his adorableness is giagantic!
Perhaps I used a bit too much cheesiness there...
Load More Replies...Kittens and puppies and babies might make the people swoon; but few things are as 'Dorble as a dragon's first doubloon.
I am a dragon lover from way back, also have written two dragon stories and have never found the right character for my one story would be interested in seeing your inturpretation of my young wee Galean. Interestedd?
I want to get a tattoo inspired by this one but with a book instead of the coin.
Wrathar The Blunderous
"Wrathar the Blunderous" has learned the hard way that castles do not make good chairs.
Many lands have been laid waste from Tychus to Bathmategon. But none have suffered more disgrace that those Wrathar has satupon.
Dargamiin The Necromancer
Only in the deepest of caves will one find this evil drake. He has no desire for gold. His treasure are the souls of the foolish adventurers who dare disturb him.
Nah, he doesn't hoard or anything. He literally just wants people to F off
Load More Replies...Don't bother me!! I'm playing Peoplevale! I have 264 humans!
Oh god, no. If my brother finds this guy, we are all doomed. Dear Snickers-Twix-Mars bar hybrid, nothing can save us now!
I had a teacher that had the same look, make a lot of sense now.
Jaxin The Anxious
"Jaxin the anxious" was not expecting to be ambushed by his fearsome foe.
Jaxin quakes and trembles over many fearsome things. Like ice cream cones and butterflies and puppet knights on springs.
Zasdar The Swift
The Dragon Races used to find old Zasdar in the back. But that all changed the day he built his custom rocket pack.
Drakulos The Multiplier
This hydra serves as a sentinel for a remote island rich in precious metals. Though many have tried, no man has been able to set foot here undetected.
Mind if I use this quote and name for a roleplay, dearest Brian?
Load More Replies...Norith The Lackadaisical
"Norith the Lackadaisical" knows the importance of taking some time off from the pillaging of gold and the desolating of lands every now and then.
On permanent vacation His hammock always saggin Behold the mighty Norith One tail-draggin dragon...
Norwynne The Voracious
Even the swiftest of dragons is delayed by a well placed bog.
Norwynne left the buffet line and found he had no cash. The dining was no problem, but the swamp slowed down his dash
I really loved them. I took the liberty to translate them, so my mother will be able to enjoy them, too. You should collect all of them in a small book. The kind you can get for young children. I bet they would sell well.
Drazier The Cacophonous
Tragically misunderstood, Drazier calls from the shore… he tries to say “I love you” but it always comes out “ROAR!”
Fynlar The Daring
There is no treasure in the land that is safe from this roguish drake.
Fynlar grabbed the loot and ran, he didn't even fly. Then stopped and circled back to give the archers one more try.
Haha! Foolish humans, think you can stop me? I'm barely even trying and you haven't made a nick in my scales!
I have always imagined dragons to be sweet, shy, wise creatures that are greatly misunderstood.
I love that you are trying to break the stereotype. I myself hate the stereotype as well.
I love these. Would it be possible to get prints? Number 2 would look great in my office
I play DRAGONVALE for the last 14 months! I have 293 dragons....love it and this! I own a set, (3/4) of "dragon vs knight drawings...I adore them. One Manatee Revenge, and the Lost Firefighters!!! (retired) I guess that makes me a fan! 😁
