India: What Is Different From Europe

India shall be the most different country from the rest of the world. For me, India is a different world and you need to experience it to understand. But if you travel India has a week holiday, for example, I’m sure you will not “feel” the country. To start enjoying you need to stay there for a while and start understanding their people and habits. Basically, you need to be open-minded to embrace what India has to offer.

Some different things you will see in India:

.For Hindus cows are holly, so seeing a cow walking in the street is super normal. They also walk in the middle of the traffic and you often see people driving across it.

.Seeing cow poop on the street is also an everyday sight. In the city, there isn’t much grass for them to eat. So, you often see them eating garbage or fruit and vegetable wastes placed in the middle of the street so they can eat. I remember seeing a cow trying to eat a baby diaper with a “present inside”.

.It’s normal if your hostel doesn’t provide toilet paper. They don’t use it much. They flush. Actually, I was using the hose to wash my feet until I see this picture on the web with an explanation. I always had a toilet paper roll with me.

.You can’t stop on the road and be alone for too long as someone will approach you to sell at least a tuk-tuk ride. They are SO ANNOYING! You don’t have peace and they don’t let you alone trying to analyze where you are going.

.There isn’t 1 second which you won’t listen to the whistle from all the traffic jam. 1 SECOND! When you walk for too long it starts hitting you in a different way. A way that you can’t handle it anymore.

.People will stare at you like you were an alien. Maybe it’s because I’m a woman walking alone, I don’t know.

.Garbage is everywhere and everything looks destroyed and very dirty. I actually just want to get dirty so I feel like I belong. In some streets, you look up at the sky and all you can see it’s electrical wires.

.Trains can delay big time. My biggest delay was 5 hours!

.In India, children come at you to beg for money. I didn’t experience this in the other countries. You also see way more men than women.

.Other Indians doesn’t care if you are being a victim of a scam. They know it but they don’t do anything.

But not everything is bad. You just need to embrace it. I saw tourists in that country that were looking very terrified. I think you just need to go with the right mindset. I love India!
