Russian Artist Draws Adorable Cartoon Versions Of Different Countries (10 Pics)
Interview With Artist
Remember the time a Russian artist turned famous celebrities into cute cartoon characters (1, 2, and 3)? We love to scroll through such talented artists' vivid artwork, and Lera Kiryakova never disappoints. In her recent project “Beauty of the World,” Kiryakova digitally illustrated 10 girls from various corners of the world in her own style.
Our world is so beautifully different. Unique appearances, cultures, and traditions are what make it so rich and exciting to live in and learn from. Packed with details such as national animals, food, outfits, or makeup, these adorable cartoon-like characters resemble people from particular countries and regions. Forget Miss World competitions, because this is what we actually need.
Bored Panda spoke with the artist about the work, so don’t miss the interview below! What would the girl representing your country look like? Share your thoughts in the comments!

God the Indian one is so stereotypical. We are not all snake charmers. Most of us are scared of them, and most children don't wear saris and nose jewellery. Also why is she only the one who looks creepy?

Very beautiful. I Like it very very much. The choice of colors and the style are Wow.

Beautiful art. Some of the comments are so rude and entitled. The artist has all the right to express her art as she pleases. I appreciate her talent.

Very stereotypical, very racist... Bunching up many "Hawaiian" or "Indian" or "northern (WTF???)" looking images together and reducing beautiful cultures to a set of stereotypes. Research the cultures, talk to native people, use their own patterns, prints, colors in your work instead. I'm all for bringing different cultures together, but it needs to be done respectfully.
