Banks: I Illustrated The Immigration From Africa To Sicily

I did this illustration for “Banks” a documentary movie about immigration from Africa to Sicily. Every day tens of people die trying to get to Sicily on small fisher boats. It is a Human traffic, people without any pity buys the fisher’s boat and promise to carry the people from north Africa to Sicily.

Sometimes, at a certain point the driver abandons the boat and leave the fully loaded boat in the middle of the sea. A lot of people dies. I am Sicilian and I can see desperate people arriving in desperate conditions. I can see bodies laying down on the beach. This illustration is for all the people who dies every day. For all the people that reach a new land full of hopes every day.
