I Was Inspired By Symmetries, Various Combinations And Rhythmical Repeating Motifs.
I found a few inspirations that led me to create the following pictures. The first one was a polish folk art paper cutting motif from various regions like Łowicz, Lublin or Kaszuby. These can be repetitive patterns with multiple symmetries, various combinations and rhythmical repeating motifs in either a vertical or horizontal layout. I also looked into Islamic rosettes geometry as well as beautiful Lisbon’s mosaic tiles shapes and colours. For my aesthetic appreciation I decided to create each picture with at least 2 symmetrical lines. All the images are created by various constructions of triangles cut from original pictures. My goal was to create beautiful and hypnotising images which draws viewers attention. I wanted to create something abstract and make it hard for the viewer to recognise the items from the original photographs. I had to calculate the correct triangle dimensions for each image that would create a round shape by mirroring different sides of the triangle.
