We've got a catnip plant by our driveway, and the cats love it (whether they are ours or not. There's a flat spot on the plant where they always roll)

Can someone explain to me the purpose of catnip? Just to get them high? What's the purpose in that? I'm just curious, I've never owned a cat.

I am trying to grow some catnip for my beasts. I hope it happens! Those pics are awesome :D My previous long gone feline Friends were brought catnip once. Once, because they started drooling and became obsessed with the floor where it was for several days xD

We had two cats, male and female. The male didn’t respond to catnip at all, our female went crazy! Rolling and rubbing in it, eating it, smelling it! She was hilarious while playing with it! She’d make these little growls and then meow, then growls, it was so funny., her brother would look at her with cat pity on his face, and then walk away casually! That was even funnier!

I want to know why the cats have their tongues sticking out in most of the pics?

These are hilarious! One of my older cats is crazy about catnip. Whenever she gets her paws on some, the others just stare at her like "what the heck thought you were the responsible one"

Let's call a spade a spade. You're getting your cat f****d up. You can understand the pros and cons of drinking or whatever so you can make that choice but you cat doesn't read medical literature nor hear anecdotal stories. No cat of mine will ever get catnip. I've done it, figured out really quick that I'm very uncomfortable doing it, and will never do it again. I really hope you people don't get cranky when people hotbox their pets or feed them alcohol.
