I Photographed 35 Freckled Women To Show The Beauty Of Freckles

I have spent the last 5 months of my life dedicating my time to photographing freckled women.

Why you may ask?

Because natural beauty must be cherished and as a freckled myself, lots of times I felt ashamed of my freckles and I want to change this. I want women to be proud of their freckles, to wear them with confidence and understand their uniqueness and beauty. I also want through this project to change the mentality of the younger generations which perceive freckles as “different” in a bad, ugly way, and not beautiful. We all need to embrace the natural beauty and forget about the impossible beauty standards set by the fashion industry.

I have encouraged the women in the project to not only wear no makeup, but to also show me their true spirit. This is why you will see a lot of personalities and expressions, but I am sure that you will agree with me that all of the women are absolutely beautiful inside and out.

The images have been taken in my studio in Timisoara, Romania. I have used only one continuous source light with a beauty dish and a 50mm lens. Simple and beautiful!

I kept the editing to the minimum as i did not want to alter their natural beauty, but I must mention that half of this editing process was done on my mobile phone.

The project was already published in and international magazine dedicated to portraits and one image even got to be featured on the cover of the October 2018 issue.
