My name is Zard Apuya and I'm an artist specializing in customized vinyl toys. This year I decided to participate in Inktober. What is Inktober? It's is a month-long art challenge created by artist Jake Parker that is focused on improving skill and developing positive drawing habits. Every day for the month of October anyone participating in the Inktober challenge creates an ink drawing based on a daily prompt and posts it online.
As a 3D artist, I never considered attempting Inktober before because, oddly enough, drawing itself was always a challenge for me. Jake Parker inspires that anyone can do Inktober and that there aren't official rules that need to be followed. So I accepted the challenge and decided to create a custom vinyl toy based on the daily prompt. And because I specialize in food-themed designs, I added another layer of the challenge by choosing a snack associated with the daily prompts and also deemed this as my Snacktober. I did have to start 2 days earlier on each piece to ensure that I could finish and post each piece on the respective day of the prompt. In the end, I managed to complete all 31 toys within a span of 31 days--and many late nights of course.
Here is every toy I created for Inktober with each day's prompt.
