I was diagnosed with POTS, Dysautonomia, EDS, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome a few years ago. I suffer with chronic bone pain, chronic migraines, low blood pressure, heart rate problems, weak collagen, and more. I’m turning 16 soon and I’ve been suffering since I was around 12. It’s hard to deal with, and it’s a life changing illness even though it’s not life threatening. I can’t walk too much or I’ll hurt more or get very fatigued, and I have to limit what I do to avoid crashing. But I’ve discovered painting, and it helps a lot to distract me from these symptoms. I’ve sold a few of my paintings, and Wild Waters is one that’s for sale right now. I do commissions, and I post my art on my Facebook page, J. Black Art. I’d love to hear from any artists, or anyone suffering with similar illnesses to talk and maybe make a friend. The best way to contact me is through my Facebook. Thank you for taking the time to read this! My ambition is to spread awareness of invisible illnesses like the ones I have, and to get my art out there.

Share on FacebookWild Waters is my favorite, love the shapes and texture. It can't be easy to deal with all those health problems, however it's encouraging to see that you have an outlet for your creativity. Wonderful job, and don't give up. You will encourage others, both those who suffer themselves or family of those who suffer. :-)

Load More Replies...I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. Me too much older than you but wonderful work. I use my illustrations as pain therapy.
Hello. J. Black. Your art is fantastic and I really hope you keep it up and that it continues to be a help for you. I know the pain you are going though (well some of it) by the time I was 17 I had multiple organ failure and have had chronic fatigue since. It is not easy, and neither is the treatment for it. I only hope for the best for you and that you continue to inspire.
Thank you so much. I hope you are doing okay
Load More Replies...To be able to master art therapy and it's benefits at your age is awesome! I am 42 and didn't no figure it out until this last year. Now I can't go a day without art. It has helped me to walk again and really helped me with PTSD. Keep arting! Also mindfulness helps too!
That's wonderful! I hope you're doing good. I end up getting too excited and invested in art some days and completely wear myself out sometimes, but it's worth it to forget about the pain and problems for awhile
Load More Replies...I was also diagnosed with POTS around 10 and I have had it for a few years now. I suffer the same as you and it is sometimes hard to get through. The way you cope with this illness is amazing and I wish you the best of luck!!
Thank you very much! Best of luck to you too 😊
