I Make Powerful Black & White Photos Of Dying Flowers
There’s something sad about the passing of summer. The nights grow longer and colder. Flowers fade and die as the season changes. Leaves turn red and fall gently to the ground. Summer departs, leaving memories of warmth and light.
I was making photos of flowers last autumn when I realized that imperfect specimens have a unique beauty. I was witnessing the end of summer – flowers dying and fading with the changing season. That’s when the idea for my project “The End of Summer” formed.
I used a Helios 58mm f2 lens to give the photos their unique look and converted them to black and white in the Exposure X7, DxO FilmPack 4 and Topaz B&W Effects 2 plugins.
