I am, Amy Skrocki, a Canadian based interdisciplinary artist creating works of art from photography, metal, leather, fabrics, papers, and paintings. I often construct full sets in my small studio as well as create most of the outfits and accessories using a mix of classical and new fine craft techniques. My passion is to photograph the creations I make and bring them to life with the use of models. The “outfits” I mainly create out of leather or metal (occasionally all paper), which can take up to 300 hours and the backdrops I create out of paper, wood, metal or flowers I collect from craft stores or make myself.

My husband, Tanner, helps with the riveting together or hand finishing of the pieces as well as he often assists me as a lighting assistant. My sister Ashley Skrocki often does makeup to compliment my items.

The model (Elena Balueva) is wearing fantasy armour made entirely out of leather. It has been hand carved, dyed, sealed and buff to a shine using traditional techniques. The Swarovski beads have been all hand sewn on to the leather. The pinwheels in the background compliment the designs on the mask and corset. The makeup artist (Ashley Skrocki) completed makeup that matched the background.

The model/hair stylist (karly Vedan) is wearing accessories I’ve constructed entirely from paper. The same pinwheels are used again in the set design. The makeup artist (Ashley Skrocki) incorporated various design elements from the pieces into her work.
