I Made These Stickers For My Library.
As a way to promote my library’s newest app, I designed “resting book face” stickers and passed them out to anyone that downloaded the application. It was designed for the sassy reader in mind.
The “resting book face” is a nod to the “resting bitch face” a sentiment, feeling, or state of mind of many library workers. Inadequate funding, few resources to serve vulnerable populations, combating a problematic reputation, and most recently it has become a battleground for our country’s cultural wars. Additionally, 2020 and 2021 has hit staff morale even further. The “resting book face” is a sentiment many of us can relate to.
