My name is Rosie Zhang, a fashion designer and a weaver. Many of my weaving projects are centered around exploring the dynamic interplay between color and textiles, with inspiration drawn from the natural beauty of butterflies. Employing a diverse range of weaving techniques, I breathe life into yarns, resulting in richly colored weaving pieces.

In the Wings series, I'm fascinated by the intricate patterns and vibrant colors on the butterfly's wings. Each piece in this collection reflects my desire to closely examine the delicate details of these tiny wonders. Using warp painting and three different drafts in the weaving process, I enlarged the butterfly wing patterns. The joy lies in both the painting process and the transformation as the wings come to life in woven texture.

I am a weaver, too, and can see how you represented the scales in these pieces. I wish I could see them close up.
