My contribution for the ‘Behind the glass’ concept by Jonas Vansteenkiste
The installation interactively follows the passers-by in my street. It reflects social control and privacy issues that may arise during or after this crisis.
Since the ‘soft’ lockdown here in Belgium there’s a lot of social control, we even have snitch lines to anonymously report meetups and gatherings to the police.
On the other hand governments around the world are looking into tracking solutions to prevent further spread of the virus. Will these privacy invading solutions be temporary? Are we lowering our privacy standards?
