My name is Evy, and I’m a Norwegian artist and games developer living in the UK.

I draw a lot, on nearly everything, and for the past year or so I’ve had these peculiar characters in my head, all based on my cat and my sister’s hamster and dog.

After completing my MA in Games Design and Development this year, I decided it was time to bring these characters to life… And little by little, the world of MoonBugs began to take form.

MoonBugs are a group of creatures who one by one found their way to the Moon after it was inhabited by a group of researchers from Earth. They earned the name “MoonBugs” because of their ability to pollinate flowers using star energy.

Just like humans have hearts, every MoonBug has a glowing orb somewhere on its body. This is what keeps them alive and breathing, and also what links them together as MoonBugs.

No one knows where MoonBugs come from, but they don’t seem to have any intention of leaving.

This year is the very beginning of MoonBugs. There are currently three characters: Bungle, Riggle and Loomi. -But space is a big place, so who knows what other creatures might find their way to the Moon!

I wanted to make MoonBugs a project that could make people smile. It’s taken me seven months to get it to where it is now, and I’m not stopping :)

The MoonBugs webcomic is up and running on Instagram @moonbugsofficial. “The Story of Bungle” just finished, and now we’re getting ready to introduce “The Story of Riggle”!

MoonBugs are cute and quirky creatures living on the Moon.

I wanted the characters to be sweet and playful, but at the same time have their own unique quirks.

Where did they come from?

Space is a big place! No one knows exactly where MoonBugs come from, but those who have found their way to the Moon don’t seem to have any intention of leaving.

This is Bungle. I based him on my sister’s hamster, Shot.

Bungle loves to say hi and is incredibly photogenic. He loves to strike a pose.

Oh my gosh hi!

Bungle loves a snack…

And another snack…

Sniff sniff sniffing for nom-noms…

And all the snacks.

This girl is named Loomi. She’s a happy and cuddly MoonBug who loves to help and “come with”. Loomi is based on my cat, Olaf.

Hi friend! *enterslikeaninja

Loomi is heartbroken if she can’t come with.

Her favourite game is to nap and purr.

Loomi prefers playing with her food over eating it.

Hi friend.

This is Riggle. Riggle is sweet, strange and happy. I based him on my sister’s peculiar and lovely dog, Caspar.

Riggle loves to play, and it takes very little to fill him with joy and excitement.

Sleepy sleepy Riggle.

Riggle is tranquil, drowsy, and loves to nap.

Riggle is obsessed with accessories. I based him on my sister’s dog, Caspar, who bounces around in joy everytime he gets a new outfit.

Nap time.

Riggle doesn’t like to sleep alone. Loomi does.

Hi friend.

Riggle sees a friend in anything and anyone. Although he loves to make friends, he’s a bit scared and hessitant.
