6 months ago I was in Rome for my surprise birthday trip (thanks, Adriaan!). Walking around the greatest monuments you could never escape the constant presents of the street sales people carrying around huge amounts of selfie-sticks. “Selfie, selfie” they shouted all the time.

Selfies became something absolutely common, normal and accepted. So much that we even have sticks now. Therefore, I started looking around, spotting people who are making them. They are everywhere! These photos are made in Brussels, Paris, Rome, some local famous places of The Netherlands. We change our way of thinking about what camera is for – we start using it more and more to see ourselves than others.

This is one of the projects we made with my Dutch writer friend for our blog “The Curious Platypus”. His article about selfiology can be found in this website.
