I have the same pastimes but not to be dissociative. On the contrary I view them as reflections, ideals and possibilities of our life and use that as a source of inspiration. For example, sympathizing with characters to develop understandings of what others may experience, or revering characters to help see a clearer picture of the paths we should take in our own lives.

Life is not pointless!!! I understand you tho, I have felt that way before too. The only one who could have given me hope was Christ. I was in the middle of a bad depression. Someone did something awful against me. And I couldn't find any hope. In that moment, God confronted me. Someone did something that broke my heart, but I had done equally awful things to other people. I could understand now how I made them feel. I repented. I ask God for forgiveness and just expected for a miracle. I didn't understand what I know now, that even tho that I'm a sinner and I deserve death (that's the payment for any sin) Jesus died for me, and through his sacrifice I can be forgiven. Even more, through his sacrifice I can forgive the people that have had sinned against me, and have my own wounds healed. If you decide to trust in the Lord, if you repent, and accept his sacrifice, I assure you that you'll encounter the purpose for your life.

yes, i'm a huge bookworm. unfortunately i didn't read a lot in the beginning of quarantine because i had read all of my books and the library/book stores were closed. i did buy quite a few books once stores reopened, and i have a long list of books i plan to read! mostly classics XD

That is stunning. I crocheted lace but I had to stop because my hands cramp to much around the hooks. I'm just got a set of rubber handled ones for regular crochet but I haven't been finding any luck on the smaller guage hooks for doing lace again. I only ever got to between 30 and 50 thickness for crochet. I want to try Bobbin lace at some point.

You can buy ergonomic handles that skip over the hook, I think Clover do one. Or you can get wooden hooks which are made with large middles where your hand goes. Try etsy. Or buy a pack of fimo clay, or any air dry clay and make it into the exact shape you need and that way you have a cheap custom-fit hook. I hope one of these suggestions help you. The knitted Shawl is beautiful they used to be called wedding ring shows because the show could fit through the lady's wedding ring

You start with stories from your eldest family members, record them and draw the best family tree you can with the info they give you - then you move on to internet research - as for US a lot of documents are digitalized online, for other countries, there might be something online too or you go to the State History archives and other places where they keep old documents and look for births/marriages/deaths in back order and try to figure who fits in your tree and how :) Marriage records might have the parents listed - that extends your research, obituaries might have living kids listed and so on.

Oh, I fell down the same rabbit hole a few weeks ago. It's so interesting building that tree and thinking about generations before you. I have small kids myself, but one of my cousins just became a granddad and just the idea that his father (who died in the nineties and who was one of the best people I ever knew) is as distant to this little girl as my great grand parents, who were born in the late nineteenth century, are to me, just totally fascinates me.

I have 10 birds atm. Kira is the latest addition to my bird family. I love helping birds like her. She is 30 yearsbold and comes from a home where she lived with another Congo African grey. Sadly enough, the latter started attacking Kira. Forcing her to stay at the bottomnof her cage. I was asked to take her in, and ofcourse that wasnt a problem. I have senegal parrots, a meyer parrot (also bald), ring necked parakeets, turqouise parakeets, kakariki's, and ofcourse Kira. I would love to help more birds just like her. Giving them a home, and all the love and attention that they deserve

Wow this is so nice! My neighbor has an African Grey parrot and it’s super smart and also sort of annoying. It likes to yell “See you later alligator” at anyone passing by their house.

I read too much... I've read almost the entire Anne of Green Gables series, I've read Jane Eyre, Ivanhoe, The Hiding Place, Swiss Family Robinson, and so much more... if you're looking for something to read, I strongly recommend The Hiding Place. It's an autobiography about the life of a woman who was sent to a concentration camp during WW2 and survived, and it's incredible.

Blue oyster mushrooms. Any sort of oyster mushrooms are pretty easy to grow, and use paper or cardboard or wood as a growth medium, so it's easy to grow them at home.

I pretty much spend 8 months of the year painting and planning out my set up. We get over 400 trick or treaters each year. I've already got a social distancing plan in place for this year too. We also are part of the teal pumpkin project and offer toys to kids who can't have the traditional treats.

Addendum: 2nd Gardening. I love gardening. I'm a complete dilettante, but it's beautiful seeing things grow and trying to take care of them. Having a lush garden to sit and reflect in is wonderful. Sorry, I apologise to anyone that doesn't have a garden, but here's a thought, maybe if you do not have a garden maybe there is a free space somewhere where you could plant something? It’s not such an odd idea. Go find a piece of land somewhere, a local park etc, where you don’t think someone will tread and plant something. Sorry, my minds wandering again.
