While hiking on Saddleworth Moors, I noticed a helicopter had landed on the moorland and went over to take a look after speaking with one of the engineers there; it had apparently broken down and needed a part to repair it.
The helicopter was used to transport heavy loads such as bags of rocks and soil for moorland conservation.
It’s not every day that you come across a broken down helicopter on the Moors, and I was fortunate enough to witness it take off just as I returned from my hike around the lake.
