I’ve been a massive horror buff since I was a child and always wanted to do some horror-icon photo shoots but it can be hard finding models willing to have a bit of fun, so when my favourite make-up artist (Quinn.tessential Effects – look her up on instagram!) told me she was going to make herself up as Annabelle for our next shoot I got super excited and knew exactly where to photograph it.
Smack in the middle of the burbs there’s two old relics that used to be houses on a huge block of land. They’re supposedly heritage listed but they haven’t been looked after so one doesn’t have much left standing. Half of the house is just a pile of rubble, there’s part of a windmill up against it and a rusted tractor. I thought it would be perfect for an ‘Annabelle: Creation’ vibe.
