I have been papercutting for around 5 years now. Right back at the beginning, I couldn’t even draw a simple flower but with tons of practice, florals and foliage now make up most of my work and define my style. I decided to make Mr Squiggle Autumnal, filling it with acorns and horse chestnut leaves just to name a few.
They were all drawn out roughly first, I inked over it to scan so I could print it out on to some posh paper and got to work with my scalpel. The blades have to be super sharp especially for the really intricate bits. In total it took around 5 hours and I used around 20 blades. It is by far the most intricate design I have produced to date and my favourite!
