I’m Karen, a photographer from Manchester, NH (United States). I have a lot of extra time during quarantine to make wardrobe, props, masks, and sets, so I decided to make a set that has been dear to my heart since the 1980s- Super Mario Bros! I took a lot of photos of the process- from painting the set, to building a platform, to constructing a Mario face mask. I started this whole process by going to a paint store with a picture of Super Mario Bros level 1-1 so I could match up the color of the ground and sky. I then decided what characters I was going to have in the scene, and where to arrange everything. I made my boyfriend dress as Mario, and the rest is history!
