Just like in a dream where you do not know what happens to you, because the whole universe seems to dematerializes, the work’s artistic Yuichi Ikehata are pieces broken from a body some, but that can be considered of any, including yours.
His art is between illusion and reality, because it shows another side of the fragmented body that makes the audience wonder what is real and what is not. Yuichi using glue, wire and paper to these sculpted body parts after they shot.
The project is called Fragment of Long Term Memory and explores the fragile boundaries between the real and the unreal. The sculptures are very intimate and graceful, even if the artist’s vision is one macabre. I love hand holding a flower, for me I’m being a representation of death and life, that blend in the figure.
