Stepmom Flabbergasted As CPS Comes Knocking, Her Hubby’s Silence Towards His Kids Hurts More
Even those who are not married know it’s no walk in the park. Also, marriages last only when both partners put in effort and don’t put all the emotional strain on one person. But the foundation can start crumbling if emotional neglect begins to dominate the relationship.
One woman shared online how she started questioning her marriage after her husband’s daughter made a fake CPS report. The guy was least bothered about his wife and cared more about his daughter’s “feelings.” Scroll down to find out what the frustrated woman decided to do next!
For a successful marriage, both partners have to be equally invested
But this woman’s husband cared more about his daughter even when she made a fake CPS report on his wife
Blended families come with unique problems for kids and adults alike
Stepfamilies are much more common today than they were 50 years ago. Reports reveal that 1300 new stepfamilies are forming every day, and over 50% of US families are remarried or re-coupled. Also, some 17% of U.S. children younger than 18 live in a blended family. Despite what the stats might say, adjusting to new people is never easy.
People often talk about how this massive change can be challenging for kids, but they gloss over the fact that it’s equally difficult for stepparents. According to therapist Amy Anderson, who also lives in a blended family, stepparenting is uniquely tough and not for the light-hearted.
She explains, “Lacking the physical and hormonal bonds forged at birth and in the earlier years, and often entering a child’s life after some period of grief or chaos, can be daunting to be a stepparent. They often have to tread ever-so-carefully to avoid stepping on sore places and bio parents’ toes and parenting styles.”
However, the parent and stepparent can conquer anything, even disrespectful stepkids, as long as they support each other. They need to present a united front when the children behave rudely or obnoxiously. But things can’t really work if this basic support is missing. In fact, trouble follows immediately if a person enables their child’s rude behavior instead of standing by their partner.
This emotional neglect and lack of support from a spouse can be difficult for anyone to handle. Research highlights that being ignored by someone you care about can trigger various emotions and cause adverse psychological effects. These include stress, anxiety, loneliness, obsessive thinking, anger, self-doubt, insecurity, and a deep impact on self-esteem.
False CPS reports are serious allegations that can traumatize innocent people
The poster may have felt betrayed when her husband dismissed her concerns and sided with his daughter, even after she called CPS. It’s a serious allegation that can lead to severe consequences. Besides, the daughter is not some angsty teen, but an adult who knew what she was doing when she concocted lies just to get her stepmom in trouble.
Legal experts point out that the CPS system is designed to protect and safeguard the well-being of children in need. However, when false reports are made, the impact on families is often overlooked and understated. It not only causes immense emotional distress, but also has far-reaching consequences on the lives of innocent individuals.
Netizens urged the narrator to sue the daughter so she would understand the consequences of her actions. According to the Florida Department of Children and Families, “Any person who knowingly and willfully makes a false report or counsels another to make a false report is guilty of a felony of the third degree punishable by up to five years in prison. In addition, the Department may impose a fine not to exceed $10,000 for each violation.”
Penalties may differ by state. Nonetheless, it’s something that the poster could actually consider. As for her husband, people online felt that he just didn’t realize how seriously his daughter had messed up. Also, his lack of concern for his wife and kids was pretty problematic. The poster said she planned to leave him but wanted to figure a few things out first.
In such a situation, leaving might be the only solution. What would you do if you were in the poster’s shoes? Also, if you want more blended family drama, check out the older post we covered earlier.
Netizens advised the author to “run” as she shared more details in the comments

I'd consult a lawyer immediately. To see if I could pursue some legal remedy for the false report to CPS, and to file for divorce and full custody of the kids. I would argue that his children are a danger to my children. As far as the husband is concerned, I'd just be done with him and do what I could to mitigate the damage he, and his totally f****d up offspring have done to my kids by trying to keep them as far away from that BS as I could possibly manage. Maybe try to move far away from him.
If OP has been in his daughter's life since she was 3, something strange is happening here to make her become so red-pilled. If I've understood the timeline, the daughter's problems started about age 15, when OP had her second child. Could be a hormonal / developmental thing, but she should have grown out of that by 20, so my best guess would be her mother is poisoning her, blaming her failed relationships / marriages on OP "stealing" her husband, even though it was years later. The son seems to be getting some of this too, as he decided to stand with someone he knows is lying. Either way, hubby is being a total AH over this and deserves a second divorce if he doesn't buck his ideas up.
Daughter needs to be reported to the police, and I'm not joking. She tried to hurt her stepmother physically, now she abvses CPS (that alone is unforgivable, she takes valuable resources from kids that really need help) - what will be next? Her half brother will be the next aim. She's insane or just a cvnt, but she needs to get a slap that makes her stop.
