Today marks 85 days of this detox, and I can finally say that I’m not addicted to scrolling on social media anymore.
It’s a social issue that doesn’t get enough attention in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, social media is undeniably a great tool for sharing and promoting ideas etc, that’s why I’m not completely canning it. But I had a pretty bad relationship overusing it, numblessly lurking on there, grabbing my phone anytime I’d get remotely bored. That’s not normal. That’s an addiction. 🫨
I used to think that “disconnected people” (whom are not on social at all ) were “missing out” and think it would be unimaginable to live without “it”. 🙄 But man, I’m probably so damn wrong. These people are most likely the most down to earth last few remaining. I envy them.
Thanks to this gadget in the video, I was finally able to control this tool that is social media and not let it control me. I just hope these are not my famous last words. 😇
They say it takes 90 days to make a lifestyle change, that means today, I’ve got about 5 more days to go. 🦾
I didn’t quit cold turkey, and I’m still dabbling, but I can easily say that I’m spending 95% less time on social that I used to. And it was actually a walk in the park to get there. (except for the first few days)
👀 Give the video a watch on youtube, and if you watch until the end, leave a comment, I’d love to hear your take on this issue. I’ll probably do a follow up video from your comments.
