This is what happens regularly at our coast, because instead of immediately calling 112 (the emerceny number in many European countries) people jump after kids dragged out. The rescuers usually pull the one trying to rescue them out dead or dieing, and the kids alive. Leave it to the professionals. And inform yourself about the swimming conditions before jumping in the water for a swim. Riptides are easy to identify (zone with no waves? Stay away) and escaping is doable: Do NOT, never ever swim back. Swim parallel to the coast until you reach an area with waves, only then swim towards the beach. Rest on the first sandbank/shallow water you encounter, then progress. Most layman rescuers try to swim back against the riptide, exhaust themselves and die.

He's like the skydiving instructor who saved his client when the parachute failed. He turned so he hit the ground first instead of her. He's alive but paralyzed now. She's fine.

Gotta love the media for constantly keeping people ginned up and scared. "If it bleeds, it leads!" They no longer report the news. They report opinions and "what might happen if.." scenarios, and they're always bad!

I would have silently applauded because I F🔞UCKING HATE sealife parks and their fancy shows...as long as we bat baby seals with wooden clubs on deep red ice floes, separate bonobo babies from their mothers so that some super a🔞🔞holes get a pet, cut off the fins of sharks alive and then throw them back into the sea mutiliated where they sink and drown, harpoon whales, keep dogs in laboratories...we deserve everything that happens to mankind...tsusamis, earthquakes, cancer, etc.....😔 🤔

No, not all humankind deserve things like cancer and disasters because not all humankind does those cruel things. Don't get me wrong, those things are horrific and need to be stopped, but saying all people deserve cancer because of the actions of some is also horrific.

By comparison, orcas in the wild have never killed a human. There are known several cases where they have attacked and injured humans, but this was probably accidental, as they mistook them for prey. Once they realized their mistake, they immediately left the humans alone.

I was watching a video on this. Apparently the trainer was concerned because the orca had been acting oddly and showing signs of stress/aggression and didn't want to go ahead with the show, but she was forced by officials at the park to go ahead anyway.

I read a book about Ed Gein back in the 90's. It included crime scene photos. The book sickened me and those images have stayed with me. He was a heinous killer. So many people have endured terrible things in their childhood and lives in general and don't go on to commit horrific acts against others. It's no excuse.

No idea why you were downvoted here. Robert Farquharson drowned his three kids to "get back" at his wife. Reminds me of Darcy Freeman (thrown off the Westgate Bridge by her father, Arthur, to get back at her in a family law/custody fight) and Hannah Clarke (mother of three burnt alive in their vehicle with her three children, while her ex actively blocked people trying to help them get free from the car. He then went and shot himself.)

I am amazed about how many people here called a person who m******d in self-justice "Heroe". Murder is murder and nothing justifies it. Not even a law that includes executions as a lawful tool. And for statistics: E*******n as a punishment or deterrence does not work. Yes, someone who takes a life has to be punished and taken from society. But killing him as well ("eye for an eye") does not bring the killed person back, nor does it decrease the pain and grief of the survivors. It is sanctioned murder and I do not believe that the executioner will not take (mental) harm with him. I would not earn my money for killing other people. And what if you are wrong in the end and k**l an innocent person? No, a civilization that wants to achieve humanistic values does not have executions on their list of punishments. We have to overcome our problems in another way than this.
