Their closest relative in the cat family is the cougar! They're also a "sister clade" to the cheetah. They're much smaller than their closest cousins, though, as they usually weigh about 7 to 15 lbs (3 to 7 kg.)

I have been blessed with cats who love belly rubs and have never seized my hand with claw and tooth, so to me, this pic causes nearly irresistible "rub the belly" urges XD But I know most cats aren't that fond of it and my cats are just weirdoes!

Sometimes I will walk down the hall and Riker will be hiding behind something like a dropped sock. He is very clearly visible, as he is an 11-lb tuxedo cat with a white chin. But I pretend I do not see him. When I walk past him, he leaps from "hiding", front legs raised, and pretends to pounce on me. I act suitably surprised and pounced-upon. He returns to hiding behind the sock XD
