I am currently backpacking South Korea. I don’t even know how I ended up at Gangneung-si on the third day of my trip, as it wasn’t part of my original intenary, however it felt as it was meant to be.

    Anyways, it is only 2- hour long bus ride away from Seoul

    And is not a place to be missed if you visiting South Korea.

    This hidden wonder,

    that is mostly known as one of the hosting cities of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games among foreigners and is a trendy destination spot for Koreans due it’s

    beautiful sandy beaches

    and panoramic views of the East Sea that delivers breathtaking sunrises and sunsets.

    The beauty of the city hides in Jumunjin Beach area.

    It served as a backdrop to new BTS album cover

    and as a set to world-famous KDrama Goblin.

    Thus, it is a field day to KPop and KDrama fans and photographers alike.

    The most unique part about the Jumunjin Area is that

    it is home for a lot of individual projects as RedoBackpackers Hostel established a year ago by Damian, a former Backpacker who wanted to offer more sustainable vacation spot to travellers and promote an environment-friendly way of living.

    they don’t throw things away; they redo it and even has a workshop area where one can make their imagination run wild. It has a great support of the local community as they donate various things to the place, Redo Backpackers support the local community in exchange – thus giving its visitors unique opportunity to participate in local events and meet local people.

    It also offers shelter for free

    for anyone who is willing to spend there at least three weeks and help around the guesthouse.
