What's your number one scariest story that happened to you

so actually this year at camp, it was nighttime free time and we decided to take a walk to this one place in the camp. there was this incredibly annoying kid (matthew)that we felt bad for at first so we decided to invite him. we quickly realized our mistake and when he stopped in the plaza for something we RAN. kind of mean, and it wasn’t my decision but i didn’t wanna get left behind so i did. then we were about to walk up the mountain, no other people around, when we hear “HI ELLIE” (another friend with me) and of course it was matthew. we kept going along with him leading the way saying that he’d been that way before. but soon enough there were no light sources and we had walked pretty far. matthew kept insisting that that way way correct, a shortcut, even. eventually we reached a gate, with a sign on it that said “employees only past this point” but it was wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide open so we kept going because matthew said to. at this point it was pitch dark and someone in a golf cart passed by (typically a staff member although we aren’t sure now because we actually weren’t supposed to be there which we later learned) and even waved at us but turned off their light which was strange because there were no lights around so it was incredibly dark. we kept going and started to pass some abandoned looking cabins. they looked really disheveled, like someone had been in them or something since they stopped being used for campers. but some of the lights were on. we realized that we weren’t IN the camp anymore. anyone could be in those cabins. we turned around because there was a dead end and we could swear we heard footsteps. it was honestly terrifying and of course i had to be the weak one and have a freaking anxiety attack right then and there WHILE WE WERE STILL TRYING TO ESCAPE. we got past the gate eventually and flagged down a staff member on a golf cart and asked her if we could get a ride back to our cabin because we were about to miss our curfew. another person on another golf cart asked us if we went past the gate and we said yes. and they told us we weren’t supposed to do that. anyway thanks for reading if you made it through this😭😭
