I grow quite a few pants from stems, but, although I love a (kappertjie, as they're known in Afrikaans), I just cannot grow them...

You can make „false capers“ out of their seed capsules which are great and tasty as original capers!

I Planted This Small Tree Over A Dozen Years Ago; Styrax Japonicus, Japanese Snowbell, Japanese Styrax, Silver Bells. It Has Pretty Much The Most Lovely Scent I've Ever Smelled. Although Official Descriptions Say "Slightly Fragrant" I Find This Was Not True, For Me Anyway. In The Short 5-10 Days It Is In Bloom I Can Smell It 20' Away At Dawn, Then Fragrance Fades As The Day Warms. Descriptions Also Say Moist Soil, Blah, Blah, Mine If In Gravely Poor Quality Soil On A Dry Slope. I Only Watered It The First Year To Give A Good Start

Yes, I know that, thanks! My cats never took any interest in this plant, they only like to chew on grass-like plants :D but anyhow, I always close the door to this room when I leave :))

The fruits are edible. They take about a year to ripen on the plant, then you have to eat them very carefully so the oxalic acid crystals don't pierce your tongue. But, they're very yummy and sorta taste like pineapple.

So adorable. I want one just to get rid of flies. My uncle says I won't be able to buy them in NY for they're considered a weapon. I need to start searching catalogs.

In order to get healthy fruit from it, you'll need to graft a branch from another avocado tree. I'm sure Youtube can help you on this. Good luck!
