It can be small or big! I just wanna know

It was one of those plot twists where the reader knew about it before the character did.
It took me over a year to realize that all of my middle school friends used me because I was smart and kind. Everyone was trying to tell me that and I tried to hold on as we went to different high schools.
It wasn't until I met my high school friends when I realized that no one cared about me in middle school.
When I was least expecting it, I think I found my soulmate. One August day a new mechanic walked in on a tour of the factory I work in and despite it being COVID and the fact he had on a mask I saw a pair of boyish twinkly brown eyes a mop of brown hair with salt’n pepper streaks and I swear to good I recognized those eyes, despite the fact that I had never ever met this guy before.
Something just clicked.
Almost 1,5 years later we’re still pretty close.
I don’t really believe in past lives or such but why on earth do I have the feeling that when I’m standing close to him or talking to him that I’ve known him very well all my life?
