Strange things happen all the time, and whilst we might not understand them, there could be a really simple explanation. However, there remains a small percentage of these occurrences that cannot be easily solved. Things that occur on the edges of our perception. Things that occur beyond our understanding.

Naturally, reports of these happenings are largely viewed with skepticism and that is no surprise. Lightbulbs, coffee and umbrellas were all ridiculed in their early days but have become a part of everyday life since. Perhaps, in time, science will confirm these experiences as just another part of life on Earth. Or perhaps some things should just be left well alone.

Have you shared a house with an eerie visitor? Do things disappear without a trace? Perhaps you have been touched by a spectral hand? Are you the Gatekeeper?

We were in Mexico, visiting family. It was during the night & my husband, kids & I were asleep in the guest room (it had 2 beds). I was sleeping on my back when I was woken up by the sound & feel of a man whispering in my left ear. He was mumbling & I could feel his hot breath on my skin. I jumped up & no one was there. The kids were still asleep on their bed & my husband was, too, with his back to me on our bed.

My wife and I were looking forward to a cheap weekend break in Bruges. The weather was nice and we were naturally quite excited about our little adventure. We boarded the ferry and had a few drinks before turning in for an early night around 9pm. Our room was excessively warm. Despite the temperature, we were both pretty tired and fell asleep quickly. During the night I had a strange dream. It was one of those waking dreams where you think you are awake but you're not. I dreamt that the room was really cold and at the foot of our bed, a little girl stood all dressed in white.

Flash forward to Bruges and we spend the morning exploring before finding a nice traditional pub to sample the local ale. We were chatting and asked each other if we had slept well on the ferry. My wife was a bit reluctant to say at first but I coaxed it out of her. She too, had woken in the night. She too, was cold. And she too, saw a little girl, all dressed in white, at the foot of our bed.
