Therians are a culture that idk the specifics, but believe they’re an animal in spirit? Or they identify as an animal in spirit. Some of them believe they were an animal in a past life. But anyway it’s kind of a hobby where people will wear masks or ears and tails, practice running/walking on all fours, and act like an animal. They know they’re human, but they just like to act like an animal sometimes. Not to be confused with furries. Furries like to portray themselves as anthropomorphic animals online and with fursuits, but they don’t believe that they are an animal in spirit, and their culture is more focused around anthropomorphized animals instead of actual animals.

therians identify as animals on a nonphysical level such as psychological and they cant change it. they wear gear and do quadrobics to help connect better with the animal(s) they identify with. furries, however, often get mistaken for therians.
