Ok Ok Hear Me Out Though
yup, heaviest object strapped to the top shelf of a tall, wobbly cart (though this tv is a bit smaller and the cart looks better designed for just this use) often surprised more of those carts didn't tip over immediately - was the only one in the room NOT surprised when they did!
In my school we only had this come out when there was a sub in our music class, and it usually meant some kind of weird, informative video with questions afterwards
I never had one in school but in CHURCH we had a gigantic big bulky one that took up the whole hallway of the church and pushed people against the walls. You felt so powerful if you were chosen to put it away... you could do anything.
Those were the best days when you saw that puppy being wheeled in :)
The Intro To Video Games For Me
I loved this game. Got to be pretty good. According to a friend who knew the guy, the creator was an English major who taught himself programming. At the time, there was no internet way to verify this statement.
Mix Tapes On Casettes
Ah, recording songs off the radio, those were the days. If only the deejay would STFU while the song is still playing.
Yep, @Kapoentje! Think about the patience waiting for just the right song on the radio and the timing of hitting the red Record button!
Plus making one for someone, hoping someone made one for you.
Load More Replies...I spent hours and hours recording from the radio and hoping the jockey does not talk before the end of the song.
I had a cassette once. It was of nursery rhymes. One of the songs was about a snail on a rail. I have no idea what that song was.
Everyone Wanted One Of These In 1996
Really wish they make the new version for tamagochi... maybe on phone...
I got a Gen 1 last Christmas, idk if its the same but I still like it IMG_202104...71a291.jpg
I wonder if it really correlated to good parenting skills.... anyone?
Dinosaurs, I Miss Them
Of course! That's why I miss them and that's what I'm saying! Wasn't I clear? Maybe it's because of my poor English, but I'll try again: I miss those cute creatures I used to have in my backyard when I was child 😀
Load More Replies...You miss dinosaurs????? 😅😅😅😅😅 When my sister was two or so she asked my mother if she had ever seen dinos when she was a lititle girl 😅😅😅😅. My mum was deeply offended! 😅😅😅😅😅
Hahahaha. Tell your mother there are more people who was around then. No reason to be offended 🤣

I Used To Accompany My Mom To A Grocer's So I Can Rent These Books From A Store Next To It
I used to always buy these for my son when he was young. I read every single one I bought him, after he finished reading them. Same thing with all of the Harry Potter books. Good memories!
Ikr I just finished the main series (62 books) few years ago. I'm 24 lol. Real books sure feel different than ebooks tho...
Load More Replies...I used to read every cover of these books in the library. Did I have any intention of opening the book? No, but the covers sure were interesting.
👀 The covers were what made me read them in the first place!

We Used To Play Dodge Jarts. Yes, All The Toys Wanted To Kill You In The 70's
It was dodge jarts, but yeah. The regular way to play wasn't dangerous enough for us, lol. Back then, the only parental supervision you got was getting yelled at for not being outside. It was a mortal sin to be inside on a nice day. You got scooted out the door and told not to come home until dark. It's why nothing fazes gen-x, we've seen some sh*t, lol.
Load More Replies...Hey let's make a toy based on a Chinese war weapon!! What could possibly go wrong? And how about those Clackers, which also were similarly always causing horrible injuries and were based on a South American weapon - bolos
The real problem with the 70s was the underestimation of how stupid children are. Toss the darts into the circle to score points? Nope! Throw it at your little brother! Throw the hunting knife your uncle gave you at stump in the backyard so it bounces off and barely misses your head? Cool! Try again!
My grandparents had a truly enormous lawn. I was out playing with these one day by myself, trying to hurl them as far as I could. I did one bad throw and hurled one straight up in the air, and ran screaming from the lawn with my arms over my head. The dart plunged three quarters of its length into the grass behind me. And this is why cartoons should have been on on Sunday mornings, too.
My uncle climbed one of our trees to get a jart that was stuck there out of it. While he was about 15 feet up, we stood under him and started throwing jarts up at him in the tree. We didn't factor in that what we threw up would eventually come back down. It's a miracle we survived that era. It's a miracle that my uncle survived us. I can still hear him yelling at us to stop throwing jarts at him, lol.
Load More Replies...Isn't it lawn darts? Yeah, it got banned because... well, doesn't require a lot of explanation
Lawn darts was the generic name for it. Jarts was the brand name. Kind of how facial tissues are called Kleenex, hot tubs are called Jacuzzis and novelty flying discs are called Frisbees.

I had that exact one! ( the Appaloosa) it was one of my faves, but I sadly broke one of its hind legs. It wore duct tape leg wraps from then on. At one point in the late 70's I had about 40 Breyers, but sold them off for entry money into my first A rated horse show. A regrettable choice for sure ( I still have the bay Shetland, i call her Penny)
OMG I loved these!! Saw one a little while ago, took me straight back to my childhood 😄

True! Today we talk with our faces pressed up against a screen, right?
Load More Replies...You almost never use phrases like "he/she can't come to the phone right not" or "he/she is in the can" these days.

Typing Wasn't For Wimps When I Learned How--Strong Fingers Were A Necessity
There were 2 typing classrooms at my high school, one class was electric typewriters and the other was manual - guess the school couldn't afford enough electric typewriters. I got put in the manual typewriter class. Took strength just to make the keys hit the paper
I always had “flying caps” because you had to lift that entire carriage roll with your smallest fingers to type a capital letter. And type an apostrophe, backspace and type a period to make an exclamation point. You learned a lot of mechanical tricks like that.
And there were people who could type 100+ wpm on these things!
