It does look pre-loved. It is Singapore carrot cake. Basically rice and tapioca flour mixed with grate mooli (white radish, and hence the carrot name) and stock, then steamed, sliced and fried with eggs. I am not sure I have ever seen one look good, but mine is a particularly poor example.

Frosting is basically suger butter. That's why if you leave it out it gets gloopy. It's the butter melting. Next time, try refrigerating the cake for 10-15 minutes before frosting. Hope that is helpful. 😉

Thanks for the tip :D I never had the idea to put it into the fridge 😱 But i think the main Problem with my frosting was, that the sugar didnt like the remaining heat 😅. I make my frosting without Butter and it contains only Water (or Lemon Juice), Vanilla extract and powdered sugar.

I did that with a layer cake that had cherry preserves between the layers. Melted frosting with streaks of preserves all through it, but it was yummy nonetheless.

Likely needed to be cooked at low temps for a long period, usually 6-9 hours. Slow cookers and Dutch ovens are ideal for this purpose.

Definately. That looks like an eye round roast. It looks nice but should have been sliced thin. You can also tell that an electric carving knife was used, due to the cut marks. A sharp knife would have given the carver more control.

Its real name is Duivekater it's dutch in origin I call it bone bread because it's supposed to resemble a shin bone. Why a shin bone? Because it was originally made to be a sacrifice to protect against the DEVIl instead of ANIMAL SACRIFICE. Its name is said to derive from the dutch words for devil's tomcat. Also, it's LEMON flavored. my favorite part is how you check if it's done. You tap on the bottom and it's supposed to sound hollow. Just tap tap tap on the bottom of the sacrificial demonic bone-shaped lemon bread to make sure it's nice and baked for the devil so he doesn't curse us. It was traditionally given as a CHRISTMAS GIFT. so why is mine instead an owl? Because I had become fascinated with my new kitchen timer.
