There is always time for some animal photos. Looking at these adorable little (or not so little) creatures immediately brightens up the mood and makes the day better. Did you miss your bus? Look at some pet photos! Monday again?! Here are some cute faces you can stare at!
Some time ago, I asked the Bored Panda community to post a picture of at least one of their pets so that we could rate them from 1 to 10 based on personal preference. Oh, and they delivered! Prepare for cuteness overload! If you don't own a pet yourself, these pictures might make you want to get one.

My Giant African Land Snail Orion. Stretching For The Sky
This is orion. Shes now 4 years old. When she was a baby she was super shy. The slightest movement and she would hide in her shell for hours. After years of handling shes now extremely friendly and enjoys being handled. She used to come out with me to a local zoo. To teach people interesting things about snails. She has a sister called athena and they are allways cuddled up together. Shes the light of my life.
Amazing - a wee bit phobic myself but it makes me really happy that others can care for the less usual pet with genuine love and commitment.

Im really pleased you liked orion and enjoyed reading about orion and snails. I love teaching people about snails and how wonderfully strange they can be. She loves going out with me and meeting other inquisitive people. Its really helped her become more friendly and less flighty.

Can they carry bacteria or diseases? Do you have to wash your hands after you pet them? Absolutely adorable btw 100000000/10
Captive bred snails are much safer to handle than their wild counterparts. Wild snails can carry parasites like lung worm and other types of mite. Whereas captive bred are parasite free and disease free. Its always best to wash your hands after handling any snail, but pet snails won't make you ill. Thank you so much. They make wonderful pets. They are really chilled out and love to be hand fed. I hope you can find your forever snail in the future. Before you do get one please go onto a snail help forum. They will tell you the proper care for giant African land snails. I use reddit r/snails, but there are others out there that are just as good.

Unfortunately it depends on where you live. If your in the USA, unfortunately the breed is banned as they are a highly invasive species. They are often kept as pets in the uk and European countries, as they wouldnt survive in our climate. Making them a legal breed to keep. They can be found in many pet shops. If you do live in a place where they a legal to keep and you do decide to get one as a pet. Please go onto a snail forum to seek advice. As they can be difficult to keep as a pet of you don't know all the information on how to keep one. They are easy once you know how to keep them happy and healthy. I use reddit r/snails but there are many other sites like Facebook that have one too.

Thank you so much. Im really sorry to hear your snails have passed away. Its awful when you loose a snail. The most common breeds of giant African land snail will grow smaller than orion. As orion is a much more uncommon breed called achatina achatina (tiger snail) they are the biggest breed of land snail. The biggest reaching 30cm and weighing over 1kg. So orion has some growing to do yet.

This is so amazing! After seeing these in another article I immediately ran to read up on them and find they're illegal to own in the U.S. What a special relationship with a special life form...give her a pat for me!
Thank you. Its really unfortunate that they are banned in the USA. They are very invasive and they can't risk people releasing them into the wild. Unfortunately it happens as thats how i found my first giant African land snails. They were dumped in the woods. Luckily i was able to rescue them and save them from freezing to death. It gets very cold over here in the uk. So they wouldn't have survived much longer. You can however keep native breeds of snail. They may be much smaller but they make just as wonderful and inquisitive pets. Some can get fairly big for a small snail. Thank you. Shes been there for me on all my lows and has helped me so much. Shes definitely a very special lady.

Aww your snail sounds awesome. My first snails were tiny too. Then i found some giant African land snails dumped in a woods in the middle of winter. I rescued them as they would have died soon after. Ive been keeping and rescuing snails ever since.

The gall to call them (or any species) invasive when we're the champions of that particular behavior. We spread from Africa to everywhere and slaughtered so much along the way.

Millie, Told She Was Antisocial When Adopted. She Just Needed To Learn To Trust, My Little Cuddlebug!
PERSONALITY: refused to live with other cats at spca, had to live in a cage. Was warned she was approx 5, and found pregnant wandering the bush. She even looked angry in her profile pic! Went to spca, met her, fell in Love, and she came home. Slowly earned her trust, and she is just the loveliest girl! Very loving towards my son too. She's now approx 13-14 QUIRKS : refuses to be " told" what to do. As in if she's about to jump up on the chair and I pat the cushion or encourage her, she won't jump up, and waits and jumps up, because she decided to not coz she was told! Makes me laugh. Another recent quirk is she can't be bothered cleaning her chin any more, leading to cat chin acne (I didn't know that existed!) So now I have the honour of cleaning her chin and checking it so it doesn't get yucky or scabby etc. But that's ok lol she's her own cat and strong willed, and she's come to accept the chin cleaning now ^-^

It wouldn't let me submit the photo up there, but here's my good boy, he's at least a 15/10 in my opinion. Very sweet, never makes a growl or a bork, always ready for pats and snuggles. Gives big slobbery kisses. He loves running around in the yard but doesnt quite know what to do with a toy, likes to sit on top of me (nearly 100 pounds), he loves his hat and his blankie, and gives me a big smile whenever he has either. Very good watchdog, makes sure nothings under my bed ever. Will lick any intruders to death, don't mess with him. When you have food he never whines he just peeks over the top of the table until you give in to his puppy dog eyes. Screenshot...d2566d.png

Of course the dogs are the best, but lovely to see foals, donkeys, lizards, hedgehogs, spiders, goats etc. Love them all 💙
I want to post a picture of my babies. I have 2 beautiful girl kitties (rescued) and a 3 year old male bearded dragon. We also rescued an 8 year old female beardie about a year ago. If you haven’t been cuddled by a creature covered in spikes you are missing out. And lizard kisses are the best.
i give all the pets i havent commented on 10/10 they're all so cute
