I recently broke up with my boyfriend after being together for 10 years, and I feel like a mess. I'm experiencing feelings of sadness and loneliness. While I know I made the right decision, I've been on an emotional roller-coaster in the past weeks. I would really appreciate any advice or stories about similar experiences.

seriously im so sorry for posting twice but

because the troll keeps posting these negative things I'm going to start posting this everywhere:

Messages:

To the trolls--Your "My move at midnight" idea is s**t and cliche. As a writer, if I were building my mini angst villain arc, the April fools phenomenon is crappy because IT MAKES YOUR IDEA LOOK LIKE A JOKE. HOWEVER it is undoubtedly going to BE a joke because this is online and your organization skills suck and its going to be afternoon for a good chunk of people and setting your "grand reveal" at afternoon is comical as you would be losing sleep over something people shrug off during their lunch break. I recommend you to get your s**t together and find something more wholesome to say instead of attacking others before you try this again at a more auspicious time, i.e. a solstice or equinox.

To all the nice pandas--remember to drink a lot of water and eat some food in the next 24 hours. Get some sun if you can. Stay safe out there

unrelated but a proposal instead of an attack at the sunrise of the fall equinox would be a super cute story to write

if you dont mind taking advice from a teen, I would personally try to lose myself a little (not a self-destructive spiral A LITTLE stay safe!) in books and movies. It can be really nice to relate to some fictional characters and see how they work through things. I heard expressive writing is also a good way to vent a little about your feelings.

If all else fails, buy yourself a nice bar of chocolate. You've earned it!

I've never been in a relationship, But I feel that this is good advice. Spend time with friends and family and distract yourself with things that you love. get rid of all things that remind you of your ex.

This is less serious, but eat chocolate. It releases endorphins that will make you feel better. (but don't making it a coping habit. just eat it periodically)
