I have final tests coming up soon, and I was wondering if you guys have any tips on how to do good on them/ not be anxious for them.

Do not cram revise.

Take your time, plan in advance. Do half an hour stints. Do a couple of these a night, each night.

Thanks for the advice! I think Iā€™ll make a study guide and complete parts of it at a time.

I am taking finals soon too!

I think something that is a lot harder than it seems is to know when to stop. Like, especially if the subject matter is something you don't know well, often it's tempting to either spend a lot of time on it practicing, revising, repeating, and usually people think they can cram everything in one more time the night before so it sticks. And it does work for some people, but I find that mostly, people just need to know that there's no miracle that's going to happen 24 hours before the exam that you'll all of a sudden have this deep understanding of whatever it is. At that point, whatever you know is what you know, and there's no benefit to keep on trying to force the things into your mind. Conversely, it can actually stress you out and burn you out, shutting you down from retaining whatever you've worked so hard to learn. So, if its the day before your exam, just stop. No new learning, just reinforcing what you know at the max, and just relax your mind. It'll make the test pass by a lot easier.

Thanks so much! I do have a tendency to stress and cram even more before the day, but iā€™m gonna work on that. Also, good luck on your finals!

writing down stuff helps, for stuff like english and science i would definitely study prefixes and suffixes, they help with word meanings which in turn could help you with questions.

I donā€™t got grade advice but I got stressing advice so just donā€™t think about and you wonā€™t stress about it but if you do think about it the just remember ā€œwho cares how I doā€

I learned in psychology that if you have as close to the same circumstances when you are studying as to when you sit the exam it can be easier to recall information. Like if you listen to a certain playlist before or during study then listen to it just before the exam, or if you eat chocolate before studying etc. I didn't really test it out though.

okay okay, this is dumb but i make up songs to match with the information, especially with math.

Sorry Iā€™m a little late to the party, but the biggest thing for me is getting different takes on the subject matter. Often the way certain things are taught just donā€™t click at first, and the best way to combat that is just getting different opinions. Watch YT vids, talk to different teachers who teach the same subject, classmate, ect, just to see how they think through things. If you are struggling with certain topics, this is probably the best way to get them to start making sense. (Added bonus is when you get that šŸ’”moment. so satisfying!) Pther than that, just the normal stuff. Set out a study plan, try and get good sleep the days before and DO NOT CRAM. It wonā€™t help!

Try not to overthink it. Don't study the night before the exam, you'll be super tired. Do the ones you know you can do and save the ones you can't for last. You got this šŸ™‚
