The word "Eureka" was first said by Archimedes. When he said it, he was thinking about how to determine whether the crown gifted to the king was gold or not, and was in the bathtub when he discovered buoyancy. He then proceeded to jump out of the bathtub and run around the streets completely nude screaming "Eureka", meaning "I've found it"

I'm not sure how well known this story is, but I've always found it funny.
