He Posted A Picture Of His Newly Adopted Dog On Facebook, Hours Later The Cops Knocked On His Door
Even though pit bulls are lovable animals, many still view them as dangerous and ferocious beast. Some buildings will not even allow residents to house pit bulls and other breads because of their “reputations”.
Musician Dan Tillery adopted an adorable pit bull and did what most everyone does…He posted a photo of himself with his new dog “Diggy” on Facebook to share with his family and friends. Little did he know that the photo he had posted on social media would cause such an uproar.

Not long after posting the image above, the police were knocking at his door demanding that he hand over his beloved pal. It turns out that one of his Facebook friends had seen the picture of Dan and his dog and called the police because owning a pit bull is illegal in the state of Michigan.
But Dan was not going to let the police take away his new best friend and family member. He decided to find a loophole in the law and began researching breed-specific legislation. While he was searching, he also did some poking around in Diggy’s family tree which led him to discover something else he never could have expected.
As it turned out, Diggy wasn’t a pit bull at all, he was an American bulldog! He drove as fast as he could to the police station to get his dog back and prove that Diggy was not a pit bull like the cops thought he was (either way, we think this is a stupid law).
In a another crazy turn of events, it turns out that police aren’t allowed to identify dogs themselves, which meant the officers who removed Diggy had acted illegally. Although he wasn’t allowed to get Diggy back just yet, he knew he was on the right track.
Dan never gave up on Diggy and he was finally declared as an American bulldog. The family was able to take him home and give him unlimited snuggles and love.
