“Can You Identify The Band Just From A Literal Picture Of Their Name?”: Try Scoring At Least 24/32
Sometimes when we hear a band’s name or an artist’s pseudonym, we can’t help but wonder, “How did they come up with it?” Maybe it’s a deep metaphor? Or maybe it just sounds cool? Or maybe they just had to come up with a name fast, and that’s what was chosen? Well, sometimes, what’s chosen is surprisingly straightforward and down to earth, even literal.
In this quiz, we’re taking 32 famous artists and bands and reimagining their names through a literal lens – what they might look like if you took their name at face value. Your mission? Use your deductive reasoning, imagination, and music knowledge to identify these legends. Seems easy enough? We’ll see!

i quit the minute it told me "the rolling stones" was wrong, but "rolling stones" was correct. gtfohwtbs, bp.
Some of the others were known as "the" whatever too.
Load More Replies...Incorrect guesses: Hot Ice Cream? (Vanilla Ice) Jefferson Airplane? (Jet) Thursday? (Greenday)
Also guessed Jefferson Airplane, and was stumped by Vanilla Ice and Greenday.
Load More Replies...I enjoyed that. The ones I didn't get I had never heard of anyway so not too bothered.
The Greenday one was terrible. I'm a huge fan, and I was thrown off by the whole image. Like they calendar had only 5 day weeks, so I was thinking about it way too deeply. Something like a image of sunny day with green sky's or a green overtone would of been way better. And the Jet was also dumb. Never heard of them by name (I probably know some songs though, if they were popular/good), my mind was stuck on Bennie and the Jets.
I can't believe I got Pearl Jam correct. Or Vanilla Ice. And to be really pedantic: that's trash, not garbage. (Trash is material, including packaging, that has been discarded after use; Garbage is food waste. If you don't believe me, think of "trash basket" vs "garbage can": you wouldn't put food waste in a basket, nor is there reason to put packaging or broken stuff in a can.)
I stopped because the algorthm couldn't decide if there should be a 'the' before some names or not.
I typed in "Band with the most pretentious fans on the planet" for the first one. It said it was wrong. The answer was "Radiohead", which is exactly what I typed.
26. Pissed at myself for the doors - went 2 door cinema club, understandably. Last one I couldn't get ok computer out of my head and should have got that.
Apparently my 24/32 was a perfect score. I think there ws only one that I'd actually heard of but failed to get. Oh yeah, Pearl Jam. Even seen them live just thought the jam jar was a jar of flour or sugar, never made the connection
I only got that right because the lid of the jar was classic Bon Maman brand of jam
Load More Replies...Missed 8. The one I am really annoyed about is Garbage, since I subscribe to them on YouTube and saw a video of theirs today!
I got 23 correct. I really thought that the clue for The Cranberries was a bowl of Cocoa Puffs or soup. ... Oh well.
"23/32. You've completed the quiz with a perfect score! Keep up the excellent effort!" Awesome lol!
I do not accept the image of #17 for the artist. And I have no idea who glass animal is (the animals look like ghosts imo).
I have never heard of Glass Animals, but that is what I guessed. How the heck was that correct? LOL
What do Tool fans have in common with Americans celebrating Independence Day? We like to rock 7/4.
Load More Replies...27/32 Did better than most people. Only a couple bands I've never heard of. But missed a few clues!
