I used to be a carpet fitter and one day an old lady gave me a tip of a folded bunch of notes. When I got in the van instead of £1 notes she had given me ten £20 pound notes. This was in the mid eighties and was probably the equivalent today of about six hundred pounds. I went back to the house and her daughter had just turned up. When I told her she said it wasn't the first time it had happened and gave me one of the notes. I worried about it for quite some time after.

While I like this idea in theory, the cynic in me feels the need to point out that many gold diggers don't *want* to work. They are individuals. who, if they've done it right, will marry someone who already has people to do household management etc. They already have ambition - to look pretty/handsome (and it takes work to keep looking like that), be told they look pretty/handsome, and get the world given to them on a plate. Plenty of gold diggers aren't insecure, they're very secure - secure that they are too pretty/handsome to work.
