It's an experience to read Ben Zaehringer's comics, as they don't end as you expect them to. The comic artist's narratives start in a cliche-like manner, and end in something unfathomably dark, twisted, and, honestly, hilarious. It's safe to say that Ben is a master of this type of comic genre.

Here's an unexpected twist about the author's inspirations that you never suspected. Ben Zaehringer, who goes by the pseudonym of Berkeley Mews, expressed in his previous interview for Bored Panda (which you can see here) that his comics take from things like Disney movies and fond memories from his childhood. But he doesn't let them stay as such for long, as he then uses his mastery of twisted humor and steers it in a way you'd never expect.

The brilliance of that is that you never see the punchline coming until it hits you. Which is why it's such great material to brighten your own day with, and his 182k fans on Instagram agree. And that's where another profound twist arises out of his comics: dark and twisted humor lightens the mood like nothing else. Enjoy!

Here's a little something about the author, by the author from an interview in the previous post. "I've been doing these cartoon drawings for as long as I can remember," Ben said. "My mom's cousin, Steve Moore, is a cartoonist, so right away I thought of cartooning as a vocation. My first comics were all in the style of newspaper comic strips, like FoxTrot and Peanuts, only bad instead of good."

For those of you who were wondering about the main theme that pertains to all his comics, he admitted that it's disappointment. "When I'm writing, I ask myself, 'How can something fun be made disappointing?' Recurring motifs include: God, Santa, love, death, childhood, and '90s pop culture references. Life moves fast, so I try to only riff on things that are timeless, like Disney movies that get remade every ten years."

Thank you for saying this, but just to be careful, you shouldn't really share your age.

Anyone who would spend $1000 on bed sheets probably wouldn't bat an eye about this.
