Taking a good photo isn't always easy. I mean, have you seen our list of 40 Family Pictures That Were Clearly A Mistake? And when there's an animal in the frame, the challenge becomes even greater. After all, it's not like you can convince a squirrel to wait until you've found the perfect angle. But of course, that's where all the fun is!

Heh, one of the two kittens my dog found in the backyard last year was a spicy kitten... so I nicknamed her Spicy. Meant to give her a real name later... nope. Her name is Spicy now, forever XD She's not even remotely spicy now. She'll see you walking over and will throw herself down on the ground and roll over so you can pet her belly. She and her brother both like belly scritches... they're very strange cats XD

They're both calico girls... but the one on the right has a dilute gene, so she is a dilute calico! It's the same way that gray cats are technically genetically black cats... but they have a dilute gene, so the black fur becomes gray fur! Just a mini lesson on cat coat color genetics XD And only 1 in 3,000 calicoes are male - and that rare male is actually XXY instead of XX, chromosomally speaking. Male calicoes basically have the cat version of Klinefelter syndrome and are usually sterile.

Baby is maybe around 5-6 weeks old... her eyes are still a bit blue :) All kittens and puppies are born with blue eyes, and their eye colors change to their adult color generally by 7 weeks of age.
